My counseling style is to happily meet you where you are and support you in your journey. I treat all individuals with respect, dignity, and without judgement. I always start with asking how you are feeling in the moment, how you prefer to be addressed and if you have any questions. Next I ask any needed follow up questions from the assessment. From there we discuss goals and next steps. Ideally, I will introduce at least one new skill to practice after our first session.
The feedback I receive is that I demonstrate unconditional positive regard for all clients and offer new perspectives. Additionally, I do my best to help you learn skills that meet your specific needs.

Kari is very adaptive. After only a few sessions, she has provided more helpful strategies than my last several therapists combined. Her ability to recognize what my viewpoints and tendencies are after such a short time has been extremely beneficial. I appreciate that she is able to blend humor and analytical perspectives along with me, as that is absolutely how I learn.
