Hi, I’m Dr. DeAnna Dotson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Doctor of Human Services (DHS) and over seven years of experience helping adults gain clarity, regulate their emotions, and move through life with greater confidence and control. My approach is calm, structured, and focused on understanding the root of what you’re experiencing. I help clients slow down, make sense of their thoughts and emotions, and develop practical skills that support emotional well-being and lasting change. Therapy with me is a collaborative, judgment-free space where you can process life’s challenges, build resilience, and move toward your goals with confidence.
In our first session, we will focus on understanding what has been weighing on you and what clarity you are hoping to gain. The session includes a structured interview that helps me learn about your history, patterns, and current stressors. I will ask thoughtful questions at a steady pace so I can understand your needs and how you respond to challenges. The experience will feel calm, conversational, and grounding. By the end, we will identify your goals and outline a clear direction for therapy that feels manageable, supportive, and tailored to your life.
My greatest strengths include helping clients understand their emotional patterns, slow down overwhelming thoughts, and build practical skills that support long-term change. I am skilled at creating a calm, structured space where you can think clearly and explore what is happening beneath the surface. Clients often share that I help them feel grounded, seen, and capable of responding to challenges with more balance, intention, and confidence.
My ideal clients are adults who function well on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck on the inside. They are thoughtful, self-aware, and motivated to grow, yet often struggle with emotional overload, overthinking, or repeating patterns they want to break. I work best with clients who want clarity, emotional balance, and practical tools they can use in their daily lives. If you are ready to understand yourself more deeply and create intentional change, you will thrive in our work together.
