I don't believe in a 'cookie cutter' approach to treatment as everyone is unique. I believe in meeting a person where they are at in life. I have been a practicing clinician for over 10 years and have worked in a variety of settings. This has allowed me to develop a unique skillset and insight into a variety of different issues an individual is experiencing.
After an initial intake, sessions will focus on your unique goals for treatment. Whether this is improving relationships, communication, developing coping skills or just having an unbiased person to talk to.
I work with my Clients to help them identify and change the thought patterns leading to the development of maladaptive coping skills. I have experience working in substance abuse treatment as well as anger management, domestic violence and sex offender treatments.
I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to explore how our maladaptive thought patterns trigger negative emotions which result in unwanted/unhelpful behaviors, and how to change these thought patterns to result in different emotions and behaviors.
I have provided anger management/domestic violence treatment, sex offender treatment and have provided treatment for various criminal convictions.
I utilize mindfulness to help my Clients develop coping skills to manage anxious thought patterns.
I come from an immigrant and multicultural background. I have an understanding of how cultural and identity issues can interact with an individual's lifestyle.
I feel that every individual has the right to choose and explore their own identity.
