About me

Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Florida, also licensed to serve clients in Georgia. With 7 years of experience and a Master's degree from Saint Leo University, I specialize in helping adults navigate trauma, stress, and overwhelming feelings. My approach integrates Attachment Theory and cognitive-behavioral principles to create a supportive space where you can process difficult experiences and build practical coping strategies. I'm particularly passionate about working with veterans, active duty military, first responders, and cancer survivors—populations I feel honored to serve.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we'll start with introductions so you can get a sense of who I am and how I work. I'll ask about what brought you to therapy and the challenges you're currently facing, and I'll also want to hear about your strengths and what's already working in your life. Together, we'll discuss what you hope to gain from therapy and begin creating a plan tailored to your specific needs and goals. I'll also cover important information like confidentiality, what to expect from our work together, and answer any questions you have about the process. My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling heard, hopeful, and clear about the path forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a trauma-informed clinician, I specialize in helping adults navigate trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and the overwhelming stress that life can bring. I'm trained in evidence-based approaches including EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, which means we'll use proven methods tailored to your specific needs. My approach is structured and directive—I won't just listen passively; I'll actively collaborate with you to identify concrete goals and practical strategies you can use right away. Many of my clients appreciate that we focus on building resilience and moving forward while also honoring and processing the past. You'll leave sessions with tools you can actually use. I have specialized experience working with veterans, first responders, and cancer survivors, and I bring both professional expertise and personal understanding to supporting anyone facing significant life challenges. Whether you're dealing with traumatic experiences, navigating a major life transition, or simply feeling stuck, my goal is to help you not just cope, but truly thrive. You'll find a therapist who understands the weight of what you're carrying—and who's committed to helping you find your path forward.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I'm best positioned to serve those who are ready to actively engage in their healing and want a therapist who will work alongside them, not just observe from the sidelines. You might be someone who's been carrying heavy burdens—traumatic experiences, persistent anxiety, depression, or overwhelming stress—and you're ready to not just manage these challenges, but actually move through them. I work particularly well with veterans, active duty military personnel, and first responders who understand the weight of serving others while struggling to ask for help themselves. If you're in a profession where showing vulnerability feels impossible, or if the culture around you doesn't support mental health care, I get it—and I'm here to provide a safe, confidential space where you can be honest about what you're facing. I also specialize in supporting cancer survivors and those navigating serious illness. Whether you're dealing with the trauma of diagnosis, the anxiety of treatment, the identity shifts that come with survivorship, or the fear of recurrence, I bring both clinical expertise and personal understanding to this journey. My ideal clients appreciate structure and want practical tools they can use right away. You're looking for solutions, not endless exploration. You want a therapist who understands that you don't have unlimited time or energy—you need approaches that work efficiently and respect the demands of your life. You're willing to do the work between sessions because you're committed to real change. If you've been through things that are hard to talk about, if you're used to being the strong one, or if you're simply tired of feeling stuck—you're exactly who I'm here to serve.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely utilized approach in therapy practice that focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is grounded in the idea that our thoughts influence our emotions and actions, and that changing negative thought patterns can lead to improved emotional well-being. In my therapy practice, CBT is typically implemented through structured sessions where clients work with me to identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and beliefs.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapeutic approach used to treat individuals experiencing distress as a result of past traumatic events. In therapy practice, EMDR aims to help individuals process traumatic memories and associated negative beliefs, emotions, and physical sensations.

After my first session, I feel like I was able to freely talk and be heard. I did not feel judged or pressured. I was very nervous going into the session, because this is my first time doing therapy. I feel a sense of excitement (weirdly) to work on myself and be a better version of me while having sessions with Mrs. Williams.

I was referred to Courtney from a fellow colleague and I am so grateful for the recommendation. She has been a blessing in taking my past traumas and identifying how it has caused me to have certain patterns and feelings throughout my life and in my relationships. She is helping me process those feelings and emotions. She provides homework each week which has been helpful in identifying areas that should be addressed. I look forward to this process and seeing her at every appointment.
