New to Grow
As a transpersonal therapist, I view therapy as a holistic healing container, in which I am a fellow traveler on the path to wholeness. My goal is to awaken the knowing that is already alive within you, guiding you to your truest self. I have been on a personal journey of self-discovery and awakening for over a decade through meditation, yoga, practicing massage therapy for 5+ years, deepening an understanding of healing through the body mind spirit connection. I arrived in the field of counseling as a culmination of my personal journey, from a desire to serve others on the path to healing and integration.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our initial session is an opportunity to get to know one another. This is a time where we can explore any areas of your life calling for attention, as well as a space to ground together. I often invite mindfulness as a way of calming the nervous system and allowing our minds and nervous systems to settle together, and leave you with something to work with on your own. From a lens of nervous system co-regulation, I aim to create an atmosphere of safety and peace from which my clients are able to work through obstacles with greater ease and opportunity for insight. I help clients understand why dysfunctional patterns arise, while we discover new ways of navigating the twists and turns of life with renewed hope and clarity.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My approach is experiential, integrating mindfulness, meditation, IFS, somatic approaches, and meeting each client exactly where they are with acceptance and care. I am trained in Gestalt, IFS, CBT, DBT, EFT (tapping), transpersonal and somatic approaches, as well as nutrition. I bring a sense of optimism and warmth to my sessions, rooted in trust in the client's innate wisdom. I reflect clearly without judgment, while simultaneously challenging clients to see incongruencies and areas of growth, all from a place of deep care. I communicate to impart safety and connection, and from here, challenges can begin to be met with excitement instead of stress.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with clients who are ready to authentically see themselves and desire to reach their fullest potential, and those seeking greater clarity in any facet of life. From relationship challenges, addiction struggles, life-path questions, to deepening and building spiritual connection, I meet clients where they are with compassion and intention.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Parts work shows up in our natural way of thinking and talking, "a part of me wants to go on that trip, another part doesn't." IFS is a tool that allows clients to connect with these various parts, and gain clarity around their perspectives, goals, fears, in order to better understand one's whole being and gain greater access to Self.
Compassion Focused
Infusing compassion into our sessions helps us to lead from the heart. From this place of deeper understanding, greater insight and clarity arise naturally. Self-compassion can be an antidote to shame and guilt, allowing growth and expansion to unfold with ease.
Transpersonal
Transpersonal means beyond the self, beyond the personal. We all have had transpersonal experiences, whether listening to music that changes your state, falling in love, seeing a sunset that takes you out of your thinking mind. Transpersonal therapy brings greater attention to these experiences, helping to illuminate our interconnection with life, and the limitless nature of "your" consciousness.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy can be helpful for anyone wanting psycho-education and easy to remember skills to take home and practice. DBT can be particularly beneficial for clients who get emotionally overwhelmed easily and appreciate structure. Infused with mindfulness, DBT can also help clients with trauma and addiction by helping to stabilize a sense of internal safety.
Somatic
In today's society, we are often trained to stay in our heads, and to ignore the messaging coming through our bodies. This creates a form of self-abandonment, where we are living to gain the approval of those around us while not listening to the wisdom living within our cells. Somatic therapy involves coming back to the body, listening deeply and learning to honor our inner "yes" and "no." Trauma can be stored in our body and somatic awareness, movement, breath, dance, and sound can help to facilitate trauma release. Often this release can happen without the need to mentally process and relive the traumatic memory.
