New to Grow
I believe growth happens through connection, validation, and honest exploration. You don't have to do this alone. I offer a safe, nonjudgmental environment to create meaningful change from the inside out. My approach is down-to-earth and practical, integrating compassion-focused values with evidence-based practice that translates to daily life. I balance empathy and directness in a way that helps clients feel heard and respected. My role is to offer an honest mirror that allows a client to exercise their freedom and autonomy in pursuing what matters most to them. My professional experience includes 10+ years of working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. I have particular experience in working with the Military/Veteran population. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Washington and earned my Masters Degree from Eastern Washington University's nationally accredited Counselor Education program.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Meeting someone new and stepping out of your comfort zone can feel scary. Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and ensure this is a space you feel comfortable in. Warmth, trust, and open exploration are prioritized in understanding what is bringing you in and what you want to be different when you leave.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
The feedback I receive from clients is that I balance compassion with reality. I genuinely believe each client I work with has profound strengths and inherent value in this world. I am committed to client autonomy and freedom, and will always prioritize meeting my clients where they are at- not where I think they should be.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Feeling stuck or disconnected? I can help you navigate stress, anxiety, relationship conflict, and difficult life transitions. Together, we will build awareness, validate your experience, and cultivate realistic skills to change unhelpful patterns and reconnect you to living a life you value.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients notice patterns between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and to decipher which of these patterns are helpful or unhelpful. Sessions focus on realistic application of these skills outside of session and are tailored to the client’s unique experiences.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT to help clients build practical skills for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and healthier relationships. The approach is validating and nonjudgmental, balancing acceptance of the client’s experience with support for meaningful change. Skills are introduced flexibly and applied to real-life situations to increase emotional stability and coping.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
The foundation of my practice is based in a person-centered approach. I create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. With empathy and unconditional positive regard, the client is given space to access their own insight and capacity for growth.
Reality Therapy
I incorporate Reality Therapy into my practice by helping clients maximize their autonomy through the power of choice. Sessions focus on examining what choices align most with meeting a client’s needs and values.
