As an established therapist, my passion lies in supporting African American women experiencing anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and the impact of past wounds. Using a solution focused, collaborative, and compassionate approach we will work together to change unhealthy thinking patterns, align your actions with your values and develop healthier coping strategies. Our work together will empower you to set healthy boundaries, improve self-worth, and reconnect you to your purpose.
As your therapist, our intake session is the first step in getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. During this session, we’ll explore the reasons you’re seeking support, the symptoms or concerns you’ve been experiencing, and any goals you may have for our work together. We’ll also talk about your childhood experiences, your relationships with family, and your current social connections. I’ll ask some questions to gather background information to help us create a fuller picture of your life and experiences. This session is collaborative and conversational—there are no right or wrong answers. The goal is to create a safe, open space where we can begin building trust and lay the foundation for meaningful work together.
As your therapist, I bring a set of strengths that support a safe, empowering, and transformative therapeutic experience. I maintain a strong practice of self-awareness and reflection, allowing me to stay grounded and present as we navigate your healing journey together. I am deeply motivated to support meaningful, lasting change and bring focused energy to help guide that process with care and intention. Honesty and transparency are core values in my approach—I show up authentically, creating a space where trust can grow and vulnerability is honored. I am committed to my own personal and professional growth to ensure I provide effective, evidence-based, and culturally responsive care. I meet challenges with resilience and a solution-focused mindset, offering consistency and reliability in our work together. Most importantly, my work is rooted in compassion, empowerment, and social justice. I hold deep respect for your lived experiences and bring a strong belief in your capacity to heal, grow, and thrive.
My ideal client is someone who shows a genuine willingness for change, demonstrates honesty in the therapeutic process, and is ready to actively engage in their healing journey. They are open to self-reflection, committed to personal growth, and motivated to make meaningful, lasting changes in their life. This client understands that progress takes effort and is prepared to show up with authenticity and courage.
