PMHNP, 6 years of experience
I'm a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing appropriate medication management and personalized mental health care through telehealth. I serve clients of all ages, from children to older adults, and specialize in treating conditions like ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and more. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to take charge of their mental health. Together, we’ll work toward meaningful change that can improve your daily functioning, relationships, and overall quality of life.
In the first session, the focus is on understanding what’s been going on and what brought you in. I’ll ask questions to get a full picture of your current concerns, background, and goals, but most importantly, I’ll be listening. By the end of the session, we’ll discuss initial impressions and next steps, which may include medication options, supportive resources, and therapy approaches such as CBT, DBT, or EMDR, depending on your needs. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, respected, and supported, with a clear sense of our plan moving forward.
One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to listen without judgment. I create a space where clients feel safe being themselves, especially those who may not have felt seen or understood in other settings. My background in both psychiatric and primary care allows me to take a whole-person approach, considering how mental health intersects with physical health, identity, culture, and lived experience. I have extensive experience working with diverse populations across the lifespan, including clients navigating ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and mood disorders. My approach is rooted in empathy, cultural humility, and a deep respect for each person’s unique story. What makes me different is the way I slow things down, meet clients where they are, and work collaboratively toward meaningful and sustainable change.
My ideal client is someone seeking meaningful, lasting change and open to exploring both the emotional and practical aspects of healing. They may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, or relationship challenges and are ready to better understand their inner world and patterns. They value a collaborative, compassionate therapeutic relationship and appreciate an integrative approach that draws from IFS, CBT, DBT, EMDR, and somatic therapy. Many have felt overlooked or misunderstood in traditional care settings, including those from BIPOC or neurodivergent communities. They are curious about how mind, body, and emotions connect, and willing to engage in self-reflection, skill-building, and inner work to create greater balance, self-acceptance, and resilience.
I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients build self-awareness and compassion toward different “parts” of themselves. This approach supports healing by recognizing that all parts have protective or adaptive roles. I often integrate IFS with other modalities such as CBT, EMDR, and mindfulness to promote balance, emotional regulation, and a stronger sense of self-leadership.
I incorporate somatic therapy to help clients reconnect with body awareness and release stored tension related to trauma and stress. Through grounding, breathwork, and mindful attention to physical sensations, clients learn to regulate their nervous system, process emotions safely, and strengthen the mind–body connection.
I use CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. This structured, goal-oriented approach supports developing practical coping skills, improving emotional regulation, and promoting lasting behavioral change.
I incorporate DBT to help clients build skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. This approach supports greater balance between acceptance and change, fostering resilience and stability in daily life.
I use EMDR to help clients process and heal from trauma and distressing experiences. By engaging bilateral stimulation while recalling targeted memories, clients can reduce emotional intensity, reprocess stored experiences, and restore a sense of safety and control.

Paula asked great questions to help her understand my past and current mental health history. She also helped with what medications I could take to help. Easy to talk to, and I felt listened to.
