Hello, my name is Chandra Elizabeth Hines and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) in California. I specialize in supporting women experiencing infertility and new mothers adjusting to motherhood. With both personal and professional experience, I understand the deep impact these life stages can have on your sense of self, relationships and overall well-being. I provide a compassionate non-judgemental space where you can explore your feelings, gain insights, and develop skills to navigate the unique challenges you are facing. My approach blends psychodynamic and somatic therapy to help clients explore the deeper emotional patterns impacting their experience while also connecting to the wisdom of their body.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will spend some time talking about your current emotional struggles, your past treatment experiences, and what you hope to gain in our work together. Along the way, we may discuss your strengths and resources as well as any other information you would like to share.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

With personal experience in these areas, I bring a unique blend of empathy, understanding and expertise to support women through these deeply personal and often challenging experiences.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

I use a psychodynamic approach to uncover the unconscious patterns and unresolved conflicts that may be influencing your current emotions, behaviors and relationships. This approach involves exploring your early life experiences, attachments, and core beliefs to gain insight into how they shape your present struggles, whether related to infertility, adjusting to motherhood, or other areas of life. By bringing these hidden influences to the surface, we can work together to break free from reoccurring patterns and create new ways of relating to ourselves, others and the world.

Somatic

A somatic approach to therapy focuses on the powerful connection between the mind and body, recognizing that emotional experiences and trauma are stored within the body. Rather than relying solely on talk therapy, I often like to incorporate body awareness, breath work and a mindfulness approach to help one tune into their physical sensations and messages their bodies hold. By exploring how emotions manifest physically, one can learn to process difficult emotions and cultivate a sense of calm within their own body. This holistic approach supports deeper healing, allowing one to reconnect with their body's own wisdom and resilience.
