Are you struggling? You have tried different ways to manage life but you are at a place where it seems like you are spinning your wheels. Let's Talk. Most people begin therapy when they are not living the life they want. Maybe depression, anxiety, or low self-esteem are the culprits. You may have had a relationship that didn't work out, a traumatic experience that has changed how you see the world, or you want to change but don't know how. I'm Katie, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing therapy to those who hope there's a light at the end of the tunnel, but need some help getting there. We'll spend time together understanding your pain and struggles so you can learn new skills that work for you to create a better future. My practice is open evenings and weekends to better serve the clients who need support outside of the workday.
Our first session will be a time for us to connect and for you to tell me what brought you to therapy. I don't expect you to have all the answers. I want to hear your story and learn about your goals for the future.
My clients say I have a unique ability to be warm and accepting but also to challenge them to take steps toward their ultimate goals.
"The quality of your life starts with your thoughts". Although I practice many types of therapy it is important to know that when someone is struggling they often have powerful thoughts that keep them stuck.
We learn how to perceive ourselves and the world from our earliest experiences. Attachment theory can illuminate how we interact with those closest to us.
Both Adverse Childhood Experiences and Traumatic Events in life shape how clients think about themselves and the world. My work with trauma profoundly impacts the way I work with clients.
For clients who wish to have faith-based intervention, I offer my professional skill set, with a biblical perspective woven into your treatment.
