Welcome! Are you tired of coping with something painful that happened in the past? Maybe it was childhood trauma, emotional or physical abuse, combat, a car accident, or some other event at work or home that is now causing you to feel anxious, afraid, or alone? You want to be free from these painful memories so you can live in the present instead of an eternal yesterday. I am a trauma-informed therapist who is also EMDR trained and dedicated to helping my clients transform past hurts so they can feel better again. It is my goal to make sure that you feel seen and heard so you can feel safe to talk about difficult things and find the healing you need.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will complete an initial intake and discuss the symptoms you are experiencing, in addition to identifying the goals you have for treatment. We will start with brief introductions, review your intake paperwork, and see if we would be a good fit to work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider are my dedication and passion to helping people identify where they feel stuck and finding new ways to move forward. I am driven by my diverse experience in various settings over the years and the different ways that untreated trauma/PTSD has impacted others. I believe everyone has strengths and that recovery from the past is possible. While we cannot change the painful things that have happened to us, we can change how the impact of the past continues to sit with us today and make new goals for tomorrow.

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR therapy can help people identify and desensitize the painful memories and beliefs that are keeping them from moving forward in life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT teaches people how to identify, challenge and replace unhelpful thoughts and behaviors that are keeping them stuck.

Strength-Based

I believe everyone has strengths and can learn to build upon them in order to improve their life circumstances.
