Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is focused on creating clarity, comfort, and direction. We will talk about what brought you to therapy, what feels most challenging right now, and what you would like to see change, while also reviewing any relevant background to better understand your situation. There is no pressure to share everything at once, and we will move at a pace that feels manageable and respectful. I will guide the conversation with thoughtful questions to help identify patterns, strengths, and areas to focus on. We will also briefly discuss how I work, answer any questions you may have, and make sure the approach feels like a good fit for you. Together, we will begin defining your goals and outline practical next steps so you leave with a clearer understanding of your situation and how we can move forward with purpose.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths is providing a calm, grounded space while also bringing structure and direction to the work. Clients often find this especially helpful when they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. I balance compassion with directness, helping you feel understood while also keeping the process focused and purposeful. I listen carefully, ask meaningful questions, and help you identify patterns while building practical strategies that support real, day-to-day change. I have extensive experience working with trauma, substance use, anxiety, and high-stress situations, including complex life transitions. As a military veteran, I bring a steady, disciplined presence that supports consistency, accountability, and follow-through throughout the therapy process.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults who are dealing with trauma, PTSD, substance use, anxiety, or depression, especially when patterns feel difficult to change despite past efforts. Many of the people I support are balancing work, relationships, or other responsibilities while quietly managing stress, emotional overwhelm, or habits they want to shift. You may feel stuck, on edge, disconnected, or frustrated with yourself, or find that even when you know what needs to change, it is hard to follow through. Clients who connect well with me tend to value a therapist who is direct, consistent, and collaborative. I do not just listen, I help you understand what is driving your patterns, develop practical tools, and stay engaged in the process so progress feels steady and realistic. I offer a structured, nonjudgmental space focused on meaningful, sustainable change at a pace that works for you.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. We focus on practical strategies to challenge unhelpful patterns and build skills that support real, day-to-day change.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing helps clients explore change without pressure or judgment. I use it to support clarity, strengthen motivation, and help clients move forward at their own pace.

Trauma Informed Care

My work is grounded in trauma-informed care, meaning we prioritize safety, trust, and choice. I help clients understand how past experiences may still be affecting them and develop tools to feel more grounded and in control.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused work emphasizes strengths and forward movement. We focus on what is working, identify clear goals, and build practical steps toward meaningful change.

EMDR

I am EMDR trained and use this evidence-based approach to help clients process trauma and distressing experiences in a structured, collaborative way so they can reduce emotional intensity, build insight, and move forward with greater stability and control.
