Hi, I am Nephetia and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience providing support to individuals navigating changes and challenges in life. I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2000 and a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2012. I am a compassionate and affirming therapist who strives to provide a safe and judgement-free space for clients to express themselves and utilize their strengths to achieve their goals. Decreasing negative symptoms and helping each client live healthier fulfilling lives is the ultimate goal. With me you are celebrated and encouraged to be your authentic self. Some of my strongest qualities are building strong therapeutic rapport, creating a safe place to be authentic and being empathetic. My theoretic approach is based on the belief that clients are in charge of their counseling experience so that the process is individualized. I use an integrative therapeutic approach primarily including CBT, Person Centered, Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance an Commitment Therapy. I enjoy being able to help others reach their goals and feel more emotional stability overall. I have experience assisting and supporting clients overcome and cope with depression, anxiety, grief, issues specific to women, low self-esteem and body image.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is a gentle, low-pressure space focused on helping you feel emotionally safe, grounded, and supported. I take a person-centered approach, meaning I meet you where you are and move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. We’ll review any necessary paperwork together and spend time talking so we can get to know each other, explore what brings you to therapy, and see if working together feels like a good fit for both of us. There is no expectation to share more than you’re ready for.
The treatment methods and tools I utilize
I work from an integrated “tool kit” catering to needs of each client. I have a cognitive behavioral/social learning perspective and I use a variety of evidence based techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, person-centered and mindfulness.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I work from a person-centered foundation, meaning therapy is guided by your needs, values, and lived experiences rather than a rigid agenda. I believe healing happens through authentic connection, collaboration, and trust.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am passionate about working with adults across the lifespan who are seeking a supportive, affirming, and emotionally safe space to explore their experiences. I especially enjoy working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community and individuals navigating identity, relationships, life transitions, stress, and emotional healing.

She’s honestly the best! She’s so patient and it feels so safe to speak with her. I’ve been with her for almost three years now and I wouldn’t change it. I look forward to speaking with her like I would with my close friends.

Nephetia feels like a friend who knows how to listen and advise. She suggests thoughtful approaches to any challenge or concern I bring to her, and always provides a safe space that enables me to continue bringing these challenges and concerns to her attention. I highly recommend her as a therapist if you want someone who is warm and personable to guide you through your growth efforts.
