In my practice, I like to learn about you before I plan what interventions to use because everyone is unique.
I've accompanied many people on their journeys through their adult life stages and have helped them find ways to cope with stressors and thrive, blossoming into their best lives with healthy and fulfilling relationships. I enjoy working with adults of any age and have worked with younger adults struggling with adjustments to life seasons and relationships, through middle age while coping with the changes related to aging and through older age. My areas of focus include but are not limited to people working through relationship problems, physical and mental health problems, caregiver stress, anxiety, depression, general stress.
Trained in CBT, we use this to reduce your anxiety, depression and other problems. I've seen this method help people feel more calm and happy many times.
Couples counseling is the method we will use to improve your relationship by gaining better understanding of one another's viewpoint while building trust and respect for one another. I use this often to help people improve their communication and feel better appreciated within their relationships.
Mindfulness is one way I can help you improve your connections to your daily life, and have better interactions with others in your life. We can use mindfulness together to make all areas of your life feel more in line with what you want rather than feeling like you are just getting through your days.
Motivational interviewing is a way to help unblock your progress towards living the life you want, by finding out where you are on the road to changing your behaviors. Motivational interviewing is useful when you are feeling stuck.
Narrative therapy helps me learn a little of your history and background so we can talk more about rewriting what's next for you. This is how you tell me your story and what you think is important in how your past might be affecting you right now, and it helps both of us know more about how you see your present self and your future self.
