Hello I am Dr. Anna Ramos. I have a Ph.D. in Professional Counseling and am licensed in Minnesota [LPCC] and Florida [LMHC]. Over the past 25 years, I have worked in the mental health field. From substance abuse issues to anxiety and grief, I have provided therapy to a variety of clients. As a therapist, my goal is to empower every client to become the person they were created to be. I look forward to working with you in the future!
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In the first session, we will engage in a clinical interview which will help me understand your unique life experiences that brought you to therapy. During our appointment, we will explore your feelings, behaviors, beliefs, and challenges in an effort to establish a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My unique strength is simplifying complex concepts so they're easy to understand!
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
The process of change and growth in counseling can be challenging. As a therapist, I work to make a positive impact on each individual by addressing areas of concern and encouraging healthy mindsets that can lead to lifelong changes.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Since the beginning of my professional career, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has been a central part of my practice. In my practice, CBT is incorporated into assessment and goal setting, psychoeducational tools, interventions, and homework assignments. Among the most important benefits of CBT is that it enables people to develop practical skills to help them manage their thoughts, emotions, and behavior. By using CBT, individuals are empowered to change how they think and act--giving them mastery over their emotions.
Christian Counseling
My aim is to provide treatment that honors the values, traditions, and faith of each individual while integrating spiritual care. I offer the option of including faith into the session at the client's request and when it is in accordance with their needs. Faith integration may take the form of homework assignments, meditation exercises, or optional prayer.
