As a therapist I am very down to earth and practical. I meet clients where they are and provide them the tools that can be useful in everyday struggles. I listen to what has worked and what has not worked and work with them to find a solution that fits their life and lifestyle. I am direct and work collaboratively with my clients.
In the first session, I really like to get to know my clients and so I ask a lot of questions and really listen to what their experiences have been both negative and positive. I also will discuss goals and what the client is desiring to come out of their therapeutic experiences.
I would say my greatest strength as a provider is being able to meet clients where they're at and provide a safe non-judgmental environment for them to feel comfortable. I am often direct with my clients and really seek to provide those practical interventions to assist them in being successful. I also utilize humor, because life can be awful and sometimes you need to not stay in the serious place that keeps you stuck.
I can work with a variety of populations and have had success with those I have served and are willing to put in the effort to make lasting changes. I work great with individuals, couples, and families.
I have many years of experience working with children and adults whom display attachment disregulation that plays out in their relationships. I work from an understanding of how attachment can disrupt relationships current and future.
I utilize narrative to work on the present understanding and the hope for the future of what can be versus what is and isn't working for the client.
I utilize a variety of creative and experiential tools to assist the client in processing and coping with current struggles.
I utilize a variety of tools from CBT to assist in making connections between thoughts, actions, and consequences.
I utilize many tools from Gestalt therapeutic modality to help my clients with a deeper understanding and process past traumatic and disruptive experiences.
