This is my first time going into any kind of therapy. I chose Micah because I felt like I would be understood more due to our similar demographics & that familiarity added some comfort. I went into my first session not fully knowing what to expect from her & not knowing how I would respond, but she very quickly made me comfortable enough that I just started talking. She's such a great listener that didn't pressure, allowed me to get there on my own & took the time to make sure she understood.

I always leave the session feeling seen and heard with a few laughs in between.

I enjoy utilizing techniques rooted in ACT. This type of approach allows me to assist my clients in learning how to be mindful in order to accept and commit to their life experiences without judgement.
Learning how to implement DBT tools and strategies helps me to better aide my clients in improving their ability to better understand and regulate intense emotions.
It is important to me that I do not approach the needs of my clients through the lens of "one size fits all". Different needs require different tools and strategies. I commonly utilize ACT, DBT, CBT, Motivational interviewing, strengths based and compassion focused approaches and techniques.
