New to Grow
Are you wrestling with questions of meaning, purpose, values and identity? Maybe you’re grieving, overwhelmed, depressed, or suffering from anxiety. Our work together will be to help you gain a sense of wholeness and wellness. You are not alone, I am here to walk with you, to support your hope for change, healing and reaching your goals. Every therapist has their own personality or “style” of interacting – I am direct, solution-focused, and committed to caring well for you and your unique experiences.
During the first session, we'll begin to get to know one another. We'll review the intake documents, ask each other questions and start our journey toward the root of what you're feeling. We'll start to figure out the best practical support and real-life solutions that will help you find a way forward. You can experience healing and transformation for a hurting heart and mind and become the person you were created to be.
You are the expert on your life and experiences, and I am here to support the changes you want to make, to encourage the hope and healing that you need, and to work with you to accomplish the goals that you would like to meet.
Mental health challenges can be confusing and difficult, but when we learn more about our distressing emotions and thoughts, the lights come on and we can see a path open toward renewed mental and emotional well-being. We'll be a good match if you are ready to explore the why and how of your current life experience, learn new information, practice new skills and how to manage and move toward healing. We'll learn more about your strengths, resources, and desires. What’s already working for you? How will things look when they are better? We explore the problem, but focus on possible solutions.
Mental health challenges can be confusing and difficult, but when we learn more about our distressing thoughts and emotions, the lights come on and we can see a path open toward renewed mental and emotional well-being. Let's explore together the how and why of your current life experience, learn new information, practice new skills and understand how to navigate toward healing.
In this type of treatment, we learn about your strengths, resources and desires. What's already working for you? How will circumstances look when they are better? We explore the problem to the extent it is helpful, but largely focus on possible solutions. We will purposefully move through what is currently troubling you - and work toward decreasing the negative aspects, and improving the outcomes without getting lost in the details.
Sometimes our feelings and experiences can feel disconnected from our faith and our hope for healing and change. Are you wrestling with questions of meaning, purpose, values and identity? Maybe you’re grieving, overwhelmed, depressed, or suffering from anxiety. The Bible is not silent when it comes to struggles of the mind and heart. Christian counseling addresses the whole person - body and soul - and points to the comfort, healing, forgiveness, and restoration that comes only through our heavenly Father. Unsurprisingly, studies support that the most lasting change happens in that place where our spiritual, emotional and mental health meet. This intersection happens as we reorient our hearts and minds and behaviors to God, and our faith grows stronger when we use biblical principles to guide us and provide support through our life.
