In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In the first session, clients expect to receive information about the structure of the session and the duration of the session. I also explain to the clients that I work in solution-focused way. That means, the game will be shifted to solution-focused rather than problem-focused. However, the clients will be allowed to externalize the problems that bring them to therapy. I will establish and build rapport (a positive working relationship) by asking the asking the clients their work, relationships, and hobbies, by inquiring what the clients are good at or enjoy; and by paying clients compliments for those things. I will explore what qualities and resources that the clients already possess to help them reach their goals. I will discuss the ethical issues to ensure safety and reinforce trust.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among patients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. I am culturally sensitive, inclusive and value the strengths that bring the clients to therapy. My goal is to empower them in making positive changes and decisions for a healthy well-balanced life. I do this by creating a safe, respectful and caring environment for growth and self-discovery. I am here to support you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past 13 years. It’s helped dozens of client's challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I've been using ACT in my practice and it helps individuals increase their psychological flexibility by encouraging them to accept thoughts and feelings without judgment, while simultaneously committing to actions aligned with their values.
Motivational Interviewing
I also have used Motivational Interviewing (MI) as a counseling approach and it helps my clients resolve ambivalence about changing their behavior and discover their own motivation for change. It focuses on building a collaborative partnership between myself and my client. This approach allows me to guides my client to explore their values, identify discrepancies between their current behavior and desired goals, and ultimately find the reasons to change.
Grief Therapy
Grief therapy, also known as grief counseling, uses various methods to help my clients process and cope with loss, ultimately aiding them in adapting to their new reality. It provides a safe space to explore emotions, thoughts, and memories related to the loss, allowing individuals to find ways to move forward while maintaining a connection to their loved one
