About me

The most precious you can give to yourself is a little bit of your own attention. Life can get so busy and it's easy to become distracted by daily tasks. This makes it easy to loose sight of the most important person in your life....YOU! You are the most important project that you will ever work on and I am so glad that you are here. I have over 24 years of experience in the mental health industry and I am passionate about working with clients from all different backgrounds and life paths. I have experience working with a wide variety of ages from children to adolescents and adults. I also have experience working with with a variety of mental health diagnosis. It has been a blessing to have worked as a School Counselor for 22+ years, and know that it has provided me with a wealth of experience in so many areas with a large variety of clients with all different needs. I strive to meet my clients where they are and am passionate about helping them work on their goals. I have particularly enjoyed helping clients manage transition, trauma, depression, grief, adjustment, anxiety and parenting. I also am passionate about working with First Responders and their families. I have been part of a First Responder family for 27+ years, which has provided me with a wealth of information as well as compassion and commitment to serve this population.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Welcome — I’m truly glad you’re here. Taking this first step toward caring for yourself is often the hardest part, and I want you to know that this is a space where you will be met with compassion, curiosity, and respect. Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building the foundation of a trusting therapeutic relationship. I’ll spend time learning more about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to gain from our work together, and any goals you’d like to set. We’ll also talk about your background, current life stressors, and what support looks like for you. This session is not about judgment or pressure — it’s about connection and understanding. Together, we’ll begin identifying what’s working well in your life and where you’d like to see growth or change. I’ll explain how I approach therapy and answer any questions you may have about the process, confidentiality, or what to expect moving forward. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are and to create a safe environment where you can explore challenges, learn new coping tools, and feel empowered in your journey of self-discovery. You are the most important project you’ll ever work on, and I’m honored to walk alongside you as you give yourself the attention and care you deserve.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Deep Empathy and Compassion: I genuinely care about the people I work with and strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen and heard. My focus is always on meeting you where you are and helping you feel supported every step of the way. Extensive Experience Across Lifespans: With over 24 years in the mental health field and 22+ years as a School Counselor, I bring a broad range of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. This allows me to adapt my approach to fit the developmental and emotional needs of each individual. Holistic Understanding of Life Transitions: I have helped clients navigate major life changes—whether it’s school, parenting, career, relationships, or loss. My approach focuses on resilience, perspective, and helping clients feel grounded in moments of uncertainty. Cultural and Situational Awareness: Having worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life paths, I understand that everyone’s story is unique. I value inclusivity and tailor treatment to reflect each client’s personal experiences and values. Strong Insight into First Responder Life: Coming from a First Responder family for more than 27 years has given me personal understanding and deep respect for the challenges these families face. This experience allows me to connect authentically with this community and provide informed, compassionate care. Commitment to Growth and Healing: I believe that therapy is not about perfection—it’s about progress. My goal is to help clients reconnect with themselves, reduce stress, and rediscover their strength, balance, and sense of purpose.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is ready to pause, reflect, and begin the journey of focusing on themselves—perhaps for the first time in a long while. Life can become busy and overwhelming, and it’s easy to lose sight of who you are while trying to meet the expectations of work, family, or others. My ideal client recognizes that something needs to shift and is open to exploring what healing, balance, and growth can look like. I work best with individuals who are motivated to understand themselves more deeply and who are willing to show up honestly, even when it’s uncomfortable. You don’t have to have it all figured out—just a willingness to take small, meaningful steps toward change. I particularly connect with clients who are navigating life transitions, managing anxiety, stress, grief, or adjustment challenges, and those who are learning to set boundaries or let go of perfectionism. I also feel honored to work with First Responders and their families, who often face unique stressors and emotional demands. Ultimately, my ideal client is anyone who is ready to invest in their own well-being, take ownership of their story, and embrace the truth that they are their most important project.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My treatment approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy. Together, these approaches help clients understand themselves more fully, build effective coping tools, and create meaningful change in their lives. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) CBT focuses on how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence each other. Many times, automatic or negative thought patterns can lead to feelings of anxiety, stress, or low self-worth. In therapy, I help clients identify these patterns and learn to challenge them with healthier, more balanced perspectives. The goal is to develop new ways of thinking and responding that reduce emotional distress and promote resilience. CBT is practical and skill-based—it gives clients tools they can use every day to feel more in control of their emotions and choices. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) DBT builds on CBT by adding mindfulness and emotional regulation techniques. It helps clients learn how to accept themselves and their emotions while also working toward positive change. DBT emphasizes four main skill areas: Mindfulness: staying present and grounded in the moment. Emotional Regulation: managing intense emotions without becoming overwhelmed. Distress Tolerance: navigating difficult situations without reacting impulsively. Interpersonal Effectiveness: communicating needs clearly and maintaining healthy relationships. DBT can be especially helpful for individuals who experience strong emotions, relationship struggles, or difficulty coping with stress. Narrative Therapy Narrative Therapy is based on the belief that we are not defined by our problems—rather, we are the authors of our own stories. This approach helps clients separate themselves from the challenges they face and explore new, more empowering ways to view their experiences. In our work together, we focus on rewriting the “story” you tell yourself—shifting from feeling stuck or defeated to recognizing your strength, values, and growth. Narrative Therapy encourages self-compassion, perspective, and hope for what comes next. Bringing It All Together I combine these approaches to meet each client where they are. Sessions are collaborative, compassionate, and focused on both insight and action. My goal is to help you build awareness, strengthen coping skills, and create a life that feels more balanced, intentional, and authentically yours.
