Hi! It takes immense courage to take the first steps toward feeling better, and I commend you for that. Starting therapy can often feel overwhelming, but please know that you are not alone in this journey. If you're experiencing anxiety or depression that feels like a persistent cloud, impacting your daily life and diminishing your sense of peace, I would be honored to support you. My dedication lies in helping people heal from their hurt and improve their quality of life. I am especially passionate about empowering trauma survivors in their recovery, helping them move past feeling stuck and no longer defined by their painful experiences. For the past 13 years, I have had the privilege of supporting a diverse range of clients dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, shame, fear-based thinking, anger, grief and loss, and relationship challenges. I received my Master's degree from Nova Southeastern University and have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for 9 years.
My goal in our sessions is to create a supportive and welcoming space where you can unpack your thoughts and feelings, feel truly heard, and process life's challenges. In our first session together, we will have brief introductions and talk about the therapy process. Together, we will work to find solutions and achieve your goals. This often involves exploring the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and collaboratively brainstorming healthier coping skills that are effective for you.
Clients often share that they value my direct yet warm, non-judgmental, engaging, and approachable style, which includes a bit of humor. I want you to feel like you are making progress quickly and getting the most out of our conversations, so I encourage collaboration and frequent feedback from my clients. Whenever you're ready, it would be an honor to walk alongside you on your path to healing.
I specialize in helping clients develop healthy boundaries, improve self-esteem, and enhance communication skills, particularly when these areas have been impacted by challenging relationships. I also assist clients in strengthening their coping skills for anxiety, depression/mood issues, and trauma, especially for those ready to make significant progress. Upon request, I also provide support to Christian clients who want to deepen their faith, identity, and sense of purpose.
My hope is to make therapy the most helpful and productive experience for my clients, and I recognize that every person has their own path to learning and making progress. I utilize a tailored therapeutic approach that welcomes collaboration and feedback to most effectively meet my clients' needs. This approach may include the following treatment modalities: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma Informed and Trauma Focused CBT, Christian/Faith Based Therapy, Strength Based Therapy, Mindfulness, and Psychoeducation. With these skills that I have been practicing for years, I enjoy partnering with my clients to help them develop skills and reach their goals quickly.
