My name is Cindy Kropp. I am a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in providing compassionate, trauma-informed, mental health care for individuals seeking a more balanced and emotionally healthy way of living. I am trained to provide individual therapy for older teens, young adults and seniors trying to navigate through their own stressors and discomfort related to depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, life transitions and alcohol misuse and abuse. Utilizing a strength-based and relational approach, and with a trauma-informed lens, a solid and client centered foundation is built between the client and I as the therapeutic process unfolds. From there, I work collaboratively with individuals to set goals while also exploring her/his own thoughts and feelings as related to the challenges and struggles in their own lives. This work is achieved through the integration of cognitive behavioral therapy strategies, narrative therapy and mindfulness-based stress reduction. As we work through this therapeutic process together, clients are able to identify how their own hopes and dreams of living a more peaceful, happy and abundant life can become a reality. I believe all individuals have worth and value and need to have an opportunity to make life what they have always imagined!
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
A 15 minute consultation call is the first step. After a general discussion about what brings you to therapy, and an agreement that we can work together toward your goals, we will set up our initial therapy session. The first session will consist of gathering general background information and getting to know your strengths and needs.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am a clinician who is empathic, culturally sensitive, collaborative and uses a strength based and trauma-informed approach. I meet all people where they are in the therapeutic process and can support, guide and empower individuals to be their best and most resilient self.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I enjoy working with older teens, young adults and seniors who are struggling with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, alcohol misuse or abuse, and life transitions.
Relational
I use a relational approach to build rapport and trust with teens and adults. From there we are able to work together to implement strategies to achieve individual goals such as managing stress and anxiety, building self-esteem and self-worth, and becoming an authentic self in all aspects of life. I have used a relational approach in order to implement successful outcomes in every clinical environment I’ve worked including in-office outpatient therapy, in-home family-based therapy, and in medical social work within large hospital facilities.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
My treatment model includes one that is short term and solution focused. This approach often assists with individuals focusing on present day challenges. We work together to make significant improvements and steps to achieve one’s goals in a strength-based manner.
