My name is Sam, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and Certified Yoga Teacher with 20 years of experience applying empirically validated techniques in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dance & Movement Therapy, Mindfulness and Accelerated Resolution Therapy with adolescents and adults to improve their mental health and quality of life. I started Move 2B Well to support clients and the greater community to access the health benefits of somatic (mind-body) practices recommended by current leaders in the mental health and trauma fields. I provide mental health and yoga tracks to support people to heal from traumatic stress, to cope with and manage the impact of stress on the mind and body and to build resilience for the future.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session will include introductions, review of intake paperwork, limits and responsibilities, but will prioritize the client’s description of their current challenges and support needs. Therapeutic fit will be determined and an initial plan created.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Through 20 + years of experience in mental health counseling, I most value practicing a mindful and curious approach to supporting the mental health and well-being of my clients. Together we practice observing and processing thoughts, feelings and behavior to access and inform healthier choices and achievable goals. We do this through discussion, guided relaxation, mindfulness, and varied expressive modalities including, but not limited to; movement, drama, visual art, writing, reading and music.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am best positioned to serve client’s who are highly motivated to learn more about their values and goals and will actively apply their strengths and practice new skills toward realizing their goals.
Mind-body approach
Master’s degree in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling Psychology with 20+ years experience practicing.

I can’t say enough good things about Samantha. From the start, she’s gone above and beyond to truly understand my complex medical conditions and tailor every session to meet my needs. She doesn’t just go through the motions — she takes the time to listen, research, and adjust her approach so that I’m always safe and supported. Her compassion, patience, and deep knowledge have made a huge difference in my recovery and overall quality of life.

Samantha is very kind. She’s very understanding and very patient. She’s been fantastic at trying to help ground me until we’re able to find more help that I need. I would definitely recommend her. She’s very empathetic and I look forward to talking to her.
