I am a licensed clinical social worker with over ten years of practice in the community and more than twenty years of experience in the social services sector. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of advocating for and assisting victim-survivors of various forms of trauma. In addition, I work with individuals that are struggling with Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADS). My work extends to individuals and families from a wide array of cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as diverse life experiences. I am deeply committed to creating an inclusive and affirming environment, ensuring that every individual feels seen and supported.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then explore the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

With over ten years of experience working with clients, I have developed a trusted and compassionate approach to helping individuals. Together, we work to (a) identify the root causes of your challenges and (b) create a personalized plan that fosters growth and leads to meaningful, measurable progress. My approach is tailored to honor the unique experiences, backgrounds, and identities of each individual, ensuring a supportive and affirming space for all.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work with adults across various stages of life who are eager to grow but may not yet have the tools to turn their aspirations into reality. Many of my clients feel stuck, overwhelmed, or anxious as they navigate life’s challenges. I am dedicated to fostering a supportive and empowering environment where individuals from diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and identities, including those within LGBTQ communities, can build the skills and confidence needed to achieve their personal and professional goals.

My treatment methods

Compassion Focused

I have been using CFT in my practice for over six years with clients with histories of trauma, struggling with feelings of shame and self-criticism. In this treatment, clients learn to develop skills to be kind and compassionate with oneself and others, leading to feelings of safety and acceptance.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT for over eight years in my practice to assist clients in managing depression, general anxiety disorder, panic disorder, anger issues and stress. Clients also learn how maladaptive thoughts impact their emotions and behaviors. In this treatment, clients learn how to identify, challenge and modify negative thoughts patterns in order to change their responses to various difficult situations.

Motivational Interviewing

In this collaborative, nonjudgment, empathetic approach, I assist and support clients in implementing life changes. In partnership with client, their unresolved ambivalence towards is explored and we tap into their internal resources and skills needed to implement change.
