Do you find yourself overthinking, people pleasing, or feeling stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns? I work with women in their 20s and 30s who struggle with anxiety, dating stress, and questions about identity and direction. As a Christian counselor, I help clients explore how their faith and relationship with God can provide grounding, wisdom, and clarity as they navigate these challenges. Hi there! I’m Jenny, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving clients in North Carolina and Virginia, with over 17 years of experience supporting young adults through seasons of transition, anxiety, and uncertainty. I specialize in working with women in their 20s and 30s who feel overwhelmed, stuck in unhealthy dating patterns, struggling with confidence, or navigating major life decisions. Many of my clients wrestle with anxiety, perfectionism, and people-pleasing, and want to develop healthier relationships, stronger boundaries, and a clearer sense of identity and direction. In our work together, we focus on building self-awareness, developing practical coping strategies, and strengthening your sense of identity so you can move forward with greater confidence and peace. For clients who desire it, faith can be thoughtfully integrated into the counseling process, exploring how spiritual beliefs and identity in Christ can support healing and growth. My professional background includes work in emergency settings, trauma-informed care, and private practice, and I also supervise and mentor emerging therapists, which keeps me engaged with current best practices and reflective care. If you’re looking for a space that is warm, thoughtful, and grounded in both clinical expertise and Christian faith, I would be honored to support you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know one another and explore the concerns that brought you to therapy. Together, we’ll identify meaningful goals and begin shaping a personalized plan to guide our work moving forward. I may also suggest a few initial exercises or reflections to help you apply what we discuss and support continued growth between sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

For more than 17 years, I’ve found my greatest fulfillment in working with college students and young adults as they navigate seasons of growth, transition, and self-discovery. My experience extends beyond the therapy room and includes serving in college ministry, supervising teams of young professionals and graduate interns, and mentoring emerging leaders. I’ve also lived in Mexico, worked with refugees, and traveled extensively—experiences that have shaped my cultural awareness and deepened my ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and life stories. At the heart of my work is a passion for helping clients navigate life’s challenges, build healthy and meaningful relationships, and create lives rooted in balance, purpose, and a growing sense of confidence.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are women in their 20s–30s who are ready for growth, even if they’re not exactly sure where to start. Many of the individuals I work with are navigating depression, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, or life transitions and may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of their next steps. I also have a background working with first responders, healthcare professionals, and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, and I value creating a space that is both supportive and culturally responsive. I work best with clients who are open to both self-reflection and practical change. Together, we focus on building insight, strengthening self-worth, developing tools for emotional regulation and day-to-day functioning, and creating healthier patterns in relationships. For those who desire it, I also integrate faith as a source of strength and grounding throughout the therapeutic process.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

As a Christian counselor, I approach therapy through both a clinical and faith-based lens. I believe emotional and spiritual health are deeply connected and work with clients to apply biblical principles alongside therapeutic strategies to promote healing, growth, and hope.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have completed multiple trainings in CBT interventions and enjoy providing practical tools, resources, and handouts to support growth between sessions. My goal is to help clients build skills that foster lasting change and confidence in navigating life’s challenges.

Trauma Informed Care

Since 2007, I have worked with individuals healing from trauma in settings such as emergency rooms and crisis response for domestic violence and sexual abuse. I use a trauma-informed approach that recognizes the lasting impact of trauma on emotional health and promotes safety and healing.
