LCSW, 17 years of experience
Hi there! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in North Carolina, with a Master’s degree from NC State University and a Global Mental Health Trauma and Recovery Certificate from Harvard Medical School. With over 17 years of experience, I have worked in diverse settings, including emergency rooms, private practice, and non-profit organizations. As a Christian provider, I am passionate about supporting young adults struggling with feelings of sadness, anxiety, and uncertainty as they navigate life transitions and seek direction.
In our first session, I will take the time to get to know you and understand the challenges you’re facing. Together, we will identify key goals and develop a personalized plan to guide our future sessions. I may also provide some initial exercises or homework to help you apply what we discuss and continue making progress between sessions.
Over the past 17 years, I have found the greatest fulfillment in working with college students and young adults. In addition to providing therapy for this age group, I have served in college ministry at my previous church and supervised teams of young professionals and graduate interns. I also lived in Mexico, worked with refugees, and traveled extensively — experiences that have enriched my ability to connect with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. I am passionate about helping clients navigate life’s challenges, develop healthy relationships, and find a sense of balance, purpose, and empowerment in their lives.
I love working with female college students and young professionals in their 20s and 30s as they navigate career and relationship decisions, establish healthy boundaries, and create a balanced work-life dynamic. I also support clients in exploring their faith, cultivating meaningful relationships, and managing feelings of loneliness or anxiety related to dating, personal growth, and gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and their personality traits.
As a Christian counselor, I approach therapy through both a clinical and faith-based lens. I believe emotional and spiritual health are deeply connected and work with clients to apply biblical principles alongside therapeutic strategies to promote healing, growth, and hope.
I have completed multiple trainings in CBT interventions and enjoy providing practical tools, resources, and handouts to support growth between sessions. My goal is to help clients build skills that foster lasting change and confidence in navigating life’s challenges.
Since 2007, I have worked with individuals healing from trauma in settings such as emergency rooms and crisis response for domestic violence and sexual abuse. I use a trauma-informed approach that recognizes the lasting impact of trauma on emotional health and promotes safety and healing.
