Hi there! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in North Carolina, with a Master’s degree from NC State University and a Global Mental Health Trauma and Recovery Certificate from Harvard Medical School. With over 15 years of experience, I have worked in diverse settings, including emergency rooms, private practice, and non-profit organizations. As a Christian provider, I am passionate about supporting young adults struggling with feelings of sadness, anxiety, and uncertainty as they navigate life transitions and seek direction.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I will take the time to get to know you and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges you're facing. Together, we will identify key goals and create a personalized plan to guide our future sessions. I may also provide some initial homework to help you apply what we discuss and continue making progress between sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Over the past 15 years, I have found the greatest fulfillment in working with college students and young adults. In addition to providing therapy for this demographic, I have assisted with college ministry at my previous church and have spent the last three years supervising a team of young professionals and graduate interns at my previous job.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with female college students and young professionals in their 20s and 30s as they navigate career and relationship decisions, establish healthy boundaries, and create a balanced work-life dynamic. I also support clients in exploring their faith, building meaningful relationships, and managing feelings of loneliness and anxiety related to dating, personal growth, and gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and their personalities.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

Worked for five years at a well-known Christian private practice in the area. As a Christian, I believe our relationship with God is a powerful source of strength and hope as we navigate difficult emotions and the storms of life. I have attended Christian conferences and trainings and have also led seminars at church.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a provider, I have engaged in various trainings and applied the perspective that our thoughts shape our perceptions and influence our behaviors. Recognizing and identifying negative or unhealthy thought patterns is essential—by confronting and challenging them, we can cultivate a more positive mindset that improves our outlook and overall well-being.

Trauma Informed Care

Since 2007, I have provided therapy for individuals navigating traumatic experiences in a variety of settings, including emergency rooms and in the aftermath of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and other crises. I use a framework that examines human emotions and responses through the lens of trauma’s profound impact on emotional well-being.
