I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based out of Orange County, CA. I work with teens and adults, specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and stress management using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Psychdynamic therapy and Internal Family Systems to supports my clients make progress with the reasons they have turned to therapy for support.
You can expect our first session to share what brings you to therapy, sharing background information that can help me conceptualize the presenting concerns and time to get to know each other to build rapport.
I believe connecting with others takes authenticity and genuineness. I meet with my clients offering these two characteristics to help my clients feel supported and understood. My approach is warm and soft, and as rapport with built with my clients, there is no reason you should feel ashamed in therapy.
As I have utilized therapy in my own personal growth, I enjoy working with young adult and adult women as I have personally enjoyed working with someone near my age and life experiences.
Together, we explore emotions, thoughts and behaviors that are connected then practice new coping skills such as reframing anxious thoughts, problem solving and gradually facing fears through exposure to help build confidence in yourself.
EMDR is utilized to reprocess traumatic and difficult events by utilizing bi-lateral stimulation (audio and visual) that will result in the memories and symptoms to become less intense.
Psychodyanmic therapy to support clients to grow insight into how past experiences, unconscious thoughts and early relationships influence their current emotions and behavior. This is utilized to support in building self-esteem and defeating anxious thoughts.
IFS is utilized in session to support clients in learning and healing different "parts" of themselves that hold various emotions, beliefs and protective roles. I support client as we unburden these parts rather than fighting or suppressing them, clients develop greater peace.
