New to Grow
Hi, I’m Angy! I’m a licensed counselor and art therapist passionate about helping people who are ready to work on themselves and create meaningful change in their lives. I love walking alongside clients as they build self-esteem, practice self-love, and learn to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and clarity. In our work together, I take a compassionate and collaborative approach, tailoring therapy to meet your unique needs and goals. When helpful, I incorporate creative art directives to help you process emotions and gain new insight, as well as practical strategies you can use outside of the session. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore, grow, and thrive.
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and creating a comfortable space for you to share what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about your goals, history, and what you hope to get out of our work together. We’ll talk about what therapy might look like moving forward, and you’ll have a chance to ask me any questions. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the process.
My approach is collaborative and creative, combining talk therapy with art therapy for clients who are open to exploring the creative process. I guide clients through art directives that can help express emotions, gain insight, and process experiences in a new way. Along with these creative tools, I use evidence-based methods like CBT to give clients practical strategies for managing stress, building confidence, and creating lasting change. Clients often report feeling supported, understood, and empowered to view themselves with greater compassion and self-acceptance.
I work best with clients who are motivated to grow, even if they feel stuck or unsure where to start. Many of the people I support struggle with anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, or big life transitions. My ideal clients are open to exploring their thoughts and emotions, developing healthier coping skills, and building a stronger sense of self-worth and self-love.
I regularly incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into my sessions because it is a practical and evidence-based approach. I help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, explore how these thoughts affect emotions and behaviors, and develop healthier ways of thinking and coping. My experience includes using CBT with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, and stress, guiding them to build tools they can use outside of therapy to feel more empowered and in control.
I offer faith-based counseling for clients who wish to integrate their spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process. My approach respects each client’s faith tradition and uses it as a source of strength and healing. Together, we explore how spirituality can provide meaning, hope, and guidance during life’s challenges, while also addressing mental health from a clinically informed perspective.
