New to Grow
Hello, A little bit about me: I like reading books, watching Korean dramas, playing board games, playing volleyball, and I want to help you with your mental health. I'm someone who finds purpose in supporting others through moments that matter. Personal experiences with loss, mental health, and coming to know myself better have made me someone who values supporting others on their own journeys. When you feel like your world is crashing down, I want to help you find the calm in the center of the storm.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our first session, we will get to know each other and explore what is bringing you to therapy. I want to hear what you are hoping to get out of treatment. We will talk about the challenges you are facing, as well as your strengths. I want to see you as a complete person, so I can help you see yourself that way. Let's explore your priorities and identify what treatment approach will be the best fit for you. Then let's make a plan, so you know where to get started and when you can expect to start seeing results.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I value balance and I don't take myself to seriously. I'm good at being calm when you need me to be. I'm also good at finding natural opportunities for laughter, whether at the situation or myself. Working with adolescents, I get roasted on a regular basis. I understand that laughter can serve to release emotions, as well as strengthen the therapeutic bond. I'm also open to learning, as well as to teaching. I can introduce you to different skills and tools, but sometimes what ends up working best are solutions that are unique to you. If you march to the beat of your own drum, I don't want you to be silenced. While we address your symptoms and improve your overall functioning, let's look at your differences and find their potential. Do you need to develop new tools to cope, or do you need to adjust your environment to fit you better? Let's ask those questions together.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I'm looking for clients who are ready to get themselves unstuck. Maybe there is something from your past that you feel is holding you back or maybe you have experienced a recent change that you are struggling to make sense of. Let's figure it out together and get you back on your feet. Specifically for children who have experienced loss: I have past experience doing bereavement work with children. I recognize that children are very in the moment and that their developmental level has a significant impact on how they process death. My role as a therapist would be both to support your child with processing their feelings, while also supporting you as the adult caretaker with being a companion for them. Specifically for adolescents exploring their sense of identity: I have experience working with adolescents in a school setting trying to figure out who they are. This includes: gender identity, sexual identity, neurodivergence, cultural identity, values, future goals, and sense of meaning and purpose.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
CPT is a trauma treatment focused on developing healthier thought patterns to cure or significantly reduce trauma symptoms. I completed CPT training in September 2022. I have participated in continuing education opportunities, such as the Inaugural CPT Summit in October 2025 to further expand my capacity to help my clients get the most out of this treatment approach. I incorporate the CPT Coach app to make worksheets and supplemental reading available to my clients in-between sessions. I have primarily utilized this approach working with adolescents and young adults. I am open to expanding the populations I serve with this approach.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I completed DBT training in February 2023. I incorporate the DBT approach into my practice to assist clients with developing coping, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and communication skills. The normalization of multiple truths to validate diverse perspectives and the use of radical acceptance to acknowledge what we cannot control in order to focus our energy on what we can control are two aspects of the DBT approach that I find myself incorporating on both a personal and professional basis.
Trauma Informed Care
Most of my professional career has involved work with populations at the end of life or populations who have experienced trauma. I utilize a trauma-informed approach and psychoeducation to normalize the experiences of my clients and assist them with developing a sense of compassion for themselves, no matter where they are in their healing journey.
Grief Therapy
I have experience working with home health and hospice for a period of approximately 4 years, earlier in my social work career. I engaged in having conversations with individuals and families about sensitive topics including chronic illness and quality of life, end of life, advanced directives, funeral arrangements, and bereavement. I started out working in home health and hospice with the mindset that I would help people focus on quality of life and finding peace at the end of life. As I gained experience, I maintained my focus on quality of life, while accepting the reality that the peace someone finds or does not find at the end of life is beyond my control. My role is to be someone who listens, who shows up in moments that matter, who helps you have the difficult conversations, and supports you in finding your own meaning for your experiences.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I do not follow a strictly person-centered approach, while naturally incorporating aspects of the person-centered approach into my practice. Empathy, positive regard, and genuineness are apparent in the therapeutic relationships I build with my client's. There are times we will sit in heavy feelings together and there are times we will laugh in what appear to be inappropriate moments together. Our laughter is not intended to take away from the gravity of the situation. Our laughter is a balancing force. You can cry. You can laugh. You can experience whatever emotions need to be experienced in our session. There is room for all of your feelings.
