Hi there! My name is Sarah Audu and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Indiana. I received my Master's degree from the University of Southern Indiana. I have been practicing for four years, and I am passionate about helping people become the best version of themselves. I have a heart for serving others and I am excited to be on your team.
In our first session together, we will introduce ourselves and discuss the road that has taken you to where you are today. We will dive right in to the specific obstacles you are facing in life, and this will help me create a detailed plan for our work together.
I feel like my greatest strengths as a provider are compassion and positivity. I have a passion for helping others overcome challenges and become the best version of themselves. I truly want to help you make progress- which will include a process of identifying the root cause of the challenges and creating an individualized plan that leads to measurable progress.
I have been utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy for more than four years. With this treatment modality, clients have improved their ability to challenge reoccurring thoughts and decreased their levels of anxiety and depression. Together we will develop a deeper understanding of how your thoughts, feelings, and behavior influence you in various ways. Then we will determine how to best use that information to lower your mental health symptoms and the stress in your life.
I have been using dialectal behavioral therapy in my practice for more than four years. The focus of this therapy technique is to develop and improve the following skills: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. In utilizing DBT, I have assisted clients with better understanding their emotions and changing them, managing their emotional distress, as well as establishing and maintaining healthy relationships with themselves and others.
Strength-based therapy has been an important part of my practice for more than four years. I strongly believe that each person has a variety of valuable strengths and abilities, and I focus on empowering clients to discover and expand upon their positive qualities. Together we will focus on resources, resilience, and strength to tackle the challenges in your life.
Psychoeducation has been an important aspect of my practice for over four years. I use this treatment method to assist clients in developing a clear understanding of their mental health- from cognition to coping skills. Throughout this process, we will discuss various ways in which you can manage your mental health symptoms and improve your quality of life.
