New to Grow
I am a depth-oriented psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience working from psychodynamic perspective. My work helps clients explore unconscious patterns, relational dynamics, and the deeper meaning behind emotional challenges and life transitions. I have worked with individuals, children, and couples to develop lasting change that arises through insight, imagination, emotional experience, and moving to a richer relationship to one's inner life.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session together will be a collaborate experience in a safe, welcoming environment. I will ask questions about what brings you to therapy, what your expectations are, and what may have begun changing since you first took the step to come to therapy. I will also want to know what change looks like for you. Finally, I will explain how I work and answer any questions you may have. Psychotherapy is an adventure in self-discovery and healing. Let's begin your journey.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I work to create a warm, inviting, and nonjudgmental space where the focus is on the client feeling safe for personal exploration. I listen deeply and I bring a steady, reflective presence that allows clients to feel both understood and thoughtfully challenged. I am a firm believer in human potential and growth, and I have a deep reverence for the workings of spirit and soul.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
In my work with clients, I provide a thoughtful and collaborative space where curiosity, reflection, and imagination are central. Rather than offering quick fixes, I support clients in uncovering meaning beneath their challenges, whether in relationships, life transitions, creativity, anxiety, depression, or questions of identity and purpose. I encourage exploration of the inner world, personal myth, and the process of individuation, helping clients move toward a more integrated and authentic sense of self.
Psychodynamic
As a longtime practitioner of marriage and family therapy, I integrate psychodynamic principles into my clinical work to help clients understand how unconscious processes, early attachment experiences, and relational patters shape present-day emotions and behaviors. I view symptoms not simply as problems to be eliminated, but as meaningful communications that reflect deeper internal conflicts and unmet developmental needs. Ultimately, my goal is to help clients deepen self-understanding, increase flexibility in their personal relationships, and cultivate a meaningful and compassionate sense of self.
Jungian
I also draw strongly from Jungian and depth-oriented principles to help clients explore the deeper layers of meaning that shape their emotional and creative lives, relationships, and personal identity. Collaboratively, I encourage exploration of recurring patterns, inner conflicts, and symbolic themes that emerge through personal narratives and stories, dreams, and imagination. I support clients in developing a more authentic and balanced sense of identity that translates into awareness and meaningful change in their daily lives and relationships.
