I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 25 years of experience supporting adults and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I work with clients who are ready to better understand themselves, shift unhelpful patterns, and develop practical strategies for lasting change, often integrating evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and relationally focused work. My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in creating a space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported. Through our work together, clients gain clarity, strengthen coping skills, and build more balanced, fulfilling lives—moving from feeling stuck or overwhelmed to experiencing greater confidence, connection, and emotional well-being.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a strong foundation for our work together. I will ask questions to better understand what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, and your goals. We will also explore relevant background information at a pace that feels comfortable for you. You can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you are encouraged to share openly, without pressure to have everything figured out. I will also provide clarity about how I work, answer any questions you may have, and begin identifying initial areas of focus. By the end of the session, you should have a clearer sense of direction and what our work together can look like moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths lie in my ability to create a space that is both supportive and direct. Clients often appreciate that I balance empathy with honest, thoughtful feedback, helping them move beyond surface-level insight toward meaningful change. With extensive experience across clinical settings—including trauma, substance use, and veterans’ mental health—I bring a depth of understanding to complex concerns. I integrate multiple evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma-informed care, and Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy, allowing me to tailor treatment to each client’s needs. I am particularly effective with clients who feel “stuck” despite being high-functioning in other areas of their lives. I help clients connect insight to action, build practical skills, and develop sustainable strategies that extend beyond the therapy session.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with individuals who are open to engaging in a collaborative and reflective therapeutic process, even if they are unsure where to begin. My ideal clients are those navigating life transitions, processing past experiences, managing ongoing stress, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. They are seeking a space where they can speak openly, feel heard without judgment, and begin to better understand themselves. These clients are willing to explore both the “what” and the “why” behind their challenges, and are open to developing practical strategies to support change. They may not have everything figured out, but they have a desire to move forward, gain clarity, and improve their overall well-being. I am particularly well-suited to support individuals who value a balance of meaningful conversation and skill-building, including approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as those interested in exploring relational patterns within themselves and with others. Ultimately, my ideal clients are those who are ready to let their guard down, engage in honest dialogue, and commit—at their own pace—to becoming the best version of themselves.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In our work together, I use a structured approach called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, which focuses on how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. We will work together to identify patterns in your thinking that may be contributing to distress and explore ways to shift those patterns into more balanced and helpful perspectives. At the same time, we will develop practical strategies and skills you can use in your daily life to manage challenges more effectively and feel more in control of your experiences.

Couples Counseling

In couples counseling, I use an approach called Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT), which helps partners better understand the patterns that may be creating tension or distance in the relationship. We focus on improving communication, increasing awareness of each other’s thoughts and emotions, and finding healthier ways to respond during conflict. IBCT also helps couples learn how to accept and navigate differences while making meaningful changes that strengthen the relationship. The goal is to help you build a more supportive, connected, and balanced partnership.

Strength-Based

In our work together, I use a strengths-based approach, which means we focus on what is already working well for you, rather than only what feels difficult or challenging. We will identify your strengths, skills, and past successes, and use those as a foundation for growth and change. This approach is designed to help you feel more empowered, build confidence, and recognize your ability to navigate challenges in a way that aligns with your values and goals.
