LCSW, 24 years of experience
Let me be your guide by your side as we navigate this thing called life. Together in therapy, we will consider pros and cons of behavior, address upsetting beliefs, regulate emotions, grow resilience, make informed decisions, address mental health concerns, promote self-awareness and champion personal growth; aka heal. Also maybe, we'll laugh and cry. You’re the expert of your experiences and how they have and will continue to affect your life. You’ll drive the healing process and I’ll support you with my training. As a therapist, I'm genuinely curious about your story and what you want to take away from our time together.
In your first session we will explore the main areas of your life including supports like family, friends, and relationships; what brings you joy or helps reduce stress; your cultural background; what's currently working well; your education or work life; your physical/medical needs; and your values. We'll also explore key timeline moments in your current situation to better understand what you've already tried, where you'd like to better align, and what your goals for our time together are.
My therapist part feels most successful when it's modeling self-led energy (compassion, connectedness, curiosity) in sessions by following your lead. I believe in person-centered strength-based therapy which means you are the expert of your experience and you drive the healing process.
Therapy is for everyone! It can help identify harmful and helpful patterns, connect our parts to our true self, and provide space to practice building new skills such as setting boundaries or coping strategies. I specialize in working with individuals who are seeking support, interested in healing, need a listener, live in Colorado or Utah, are 10 years and older, who may be impacted by trauma, who may identify as LGBTQ+, as well as parents and caregivers.
I have specifically chosen types of therapy, like IFS, that are proven helpful when going through transitions, or in addressing distress following trauma or healing childhood wounds, and/or addressing mental health issues like worry, addiction, or lack of motivation. All parts (protective and injured) of you are welcome!
