Hello, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Santa Paula, California. I have been in the mental health field for over 15 years and my passion has led me to earn my degree in mental health counseling. I currently offer therapy in person and through telehealth. I am bilingual in Spanish, and enjoy working with others to help them achieve their best self.
Our first session together will consist of me getting to know more about you. I will ask you questions about your background history, your current symptoms and how it affects your current functioning. This will help me understand how to better serve you and it will help me create a treatment plan to help guide our sessions.
My approach to providing therapy is very genuine and supportive. I will be your biggest cheerleader and celebrate your milestones in therapy with you.
I work with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, feeling overwhelmed in their lives due to having to make certain life decisions, experiencing unresolved issues, relationship problems and life transitions.
There is no one directional approach to treat an individual experiencing various things, so I pull from different methods and approaches to help you reach your goal. We are all different and not one treatment approach works for everyone.
I like to focus on the present time with clients, and explore any unresolved issues they may be holding on to that prevents them from moving forward. I incorporate mind (thoughts and feelings) and body (physical sensations) helps to promote self-awareness and integration. I utilize role-playing, the empty chair technique, and writing letters to someone they have an unresolved experience with.
I create a safe and non-judgmental environment to help clients explore their thoughts feelings and experiences at their own comfortable pace. I help to facilitate personal growth and development, increase self-esteem so the client is able to make their own personal decisions.
In treatment, we will focus on the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors, and work towards identifying and changing negative thought patterns. Assignments will be given and reviewed in therapy sessions.
