Everyone deserves to have a space to feel heard and supported. I'm a Marriage and Family therapist and my goals for my work with clients include establishing and maintaining a space of safety while empowering clients to take on challenges they encounter. As a Marriage and Family Therapist I approach therapy with a relational context in mind- even if you are showing up as an individual. I understand how systems impact us and contribute to stresses. As a therapist, I provide a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental environment for you to express yourself and help you navigate the challenges life presents.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, I strive to understand what you are hoping to get out of therapy. We will go over your history and what's bringing you into therapy today. Together we will work to understand how your anxiety, stress or relationship struggles are impacting your daily life. I want you to imagine your life in 6 months and what change you would feel if therapy is productive and helpful for you. We will discuss this vision and the goals we can create to help make that vision a reality.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

You are the expert on yourself and your experiences. I am open to client feedback and believe therapy works when clients are collaborative in the process. I approach clients with warmth and empathy while being willing to challenge them to expand their skills. While having larger goals to guide the process is important, I work with clients to create smaller goals along the way. Together we discuss what small changes you can make to feel empowered, more at ease or confident in interactions. I value the therapeutic relationship and want therapy to be a safe space where nothing is off limits. Each week we will review your goals and what went well and what was a challenge. Through our work I hope to empower you and give you the confidence to face challenges and learn to trust yourself.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with clients who find themselves struggling with anxiety, managing stress or feeling overwhelmed or unhappy in their relationships. My typical client struggles with knowing how to navigate interpersonal relationships and at times feel stuck repeating the same patterns with people in their life. I work with people struggling with ruminating thoughts and anxiety taking the lead in their daily life. I support clients in identifying their goals and imagining how their lives could look with the right skills and strategies to cope.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to support clients in understanding the power of their thoughts. CBT has helped a lot of clients learn to manage anxiety and understand how their thoughts impact their emotions and behaviors. Once we begin to identify your thoughts, we will work on identifying patterns and work together to challenge unhelpful thoughts and create strategies to support you in feeling empowered.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Whether working with an individual or a couple, EFT supports exploring and understanding more vulnerable emotions. Together we look at presenting emotions and try and understand the emotions which might be harder to express or identify. We work to understand your emotions and how they shape interactions with others and how you view yourself.
