New to Grow
I am just a human being who does human things. As a therapist, I like to bring my imperfect human qualities to session. I live in reality of the tribulations of normal life with pockets of joy I make for myself. I don't want to give you a flowery, fluffy intro thinking I will have you getting up at 3am to drink a green juice to find wellness. I am a therapist who will get you living your life in the most achievable happy way that you can. I will always be your biggest cheerleader, if you'll let me.
I like to think of it as a get to know you for both of us. For me, it will be a lot of questions to get to see if I would be best to serve you and for you to get a feel if I am best to serve you.
Multiple past clients have told me, my direct and caring nature has helped push them to commit to themselves. I will always approach your goals with a dose of reality to help keep things achievable.
I am best positioned to serve clients that are ready and committed to change. Therapy is not magic and the real work doesn't happen in session, its all the days in between. I need clients to be ready to be vulnerable and open...even when it does not put themselves in the best light.
CBT can look like many different things in the therapy session. I like to use CBT as a start to dip our toes before getting after it! CBT helps you (and me) get to know you better and really start building on your goals. I am trained in Essentials of CBT from the Beck Institute and CBT with Children and adolescents.
I am a Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing trained therapist. There may be some technical difficulties to troubleshoot virtually, but EMDR is a great way I can help clients address issues from self exploration to trauma.
Trauma work can be very hard and there are so many ways to approach it. Trauma care can look different for each individual depending on where they are in their healing. For me, my main goal in trauma care is to get you feeling about it not just talking or thinking about it.
CPT is for PTSD. It is a worksheet dense modality that gets you challenging your thoughts on a daily basis. My responsibility in modality is to inform and hold you accountable to your goals with practice completion.
If you are going to spill all your inner most workings, you need to feel comfortable and trust your therapist. I want everyone to feel comfortable with me to be able to trust me no matter who they are.
