New to Grow
I believe every person’s mental health journey is deeply personal. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel truly heard and empowered. Together, we’ll explore the thoughts and emotions that shape your experiences, discover meaningful coping strategies, and work toward building a greater sense of calm and resilience. My approach is compassionate, non-judgmental, and tailored to your unique needs. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you—guided by care, curiosity, and respect.
I approach my first sessions with clients with a great deal of curiosity, and I welcome the same from you. In the first session I would expect to gain insight and understanding of what brought you to therapy, as well as what you would like to accomplish in our work together.
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is my genuine, down-to-earth presence and the emphasis I place on creating a space where clients feel safe bringing their full, authentic selves—even the parts that feel messy or vulnerable. I bring a strong foundation in family systems work, which allows me to help clients understand how relational dynamics have shaped their experiences and how change can ripple through those systems in powerful ways. I let clients set the pace, and I work collaboratively to support growth that feels both empowering and sustainable. My approach blends evidence-based methods with flexibility, warmth, and a deep respect for each person’s unique journey. Clients often tell me they feel truly seen, heard, and supported in our work together—something I consider essential for meaningful, lasting change.
As a therapist, I invite you to bring your full, unfiltered self into our sessions—even the parts that feel messy or difficult to share. Healing begins with honesty, and I believe that space should be yours to shape. I follow your lead, allowing you to set the pace, while helping you tap into your innate strength and resilience during life’s challenging seasons. Throughout our work together, I welcome your feedback so we can continually shape our work in a way that feels meaningful, supportive, and effective for you.
In my work with families and individuals I believe that it is vital to recognize the widespread impact of trauma on our day to day lives. In therapeutic practice this looks like building trust through clear communication and transparency in decision-making, emphasizing partnership and leveling power differences between providers and clients, and supporting autonomy and focusing on clients’ strengths.
I have been trained in and practice Child Parent Psychotherapy. This method focuses on strengthening the child-caregiver relationship as the main avenue for healing. In sessions I work with both the child and caregiver together to support healthy attachment and emotional connection
I have utilized TF-CBT for many years with patients to gain a deeper understanding of their trauma, as well as their body's responses to the trauma. In sessions we work on learning and utilizing coping skills, identifying our mind's cognitive distortions, as well as working to "re-train" our brain to react to perceived threats differently.
I have a strong belief that you can not help what you don't understand. Psychoeducation is the process of providing individuals and families with information and education about mental health conditions, emotional challenges, or psychological processes. I utilize it in therapy to help clients better understand their experiences and how to manage them.
My training and experience in Motivational Interviewing has provided me with the tools to help my clients find their own motivation for change. I believe that for positive change to occur, one must be intrinsically motivated to make that change. Utilizing MI helps me explore the clients' willingness to change, as well as the barriers in the way.
