I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) dedicated to providing a supportive, collaborative, and professional environment for children, adolescents, and adults to explore their emotions, relationships, and life experiences. As an immigrant to New York City, I integrate both extensive clinical training and personal insight into cultural transitions, family dynamics, and life changes. I offer services in English and Mandarin to meet diverse client needs. My integrative therapeutic approach combines evidence-based modalities, including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and child-centered play therapy, to promote resilience, strengthen relationships, and facilitate meaningful personal growth.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our initial session, my priority is to establish a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing your reasons for seeking therapy at your own pace. We will collaboratively explore your presenting concerns, relevant personal history, and therapeutic goals, without expectation for complete clarity at the outset. Together, we will begin to identify treatment objectives and discuss how various evidence-based modalities—such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic interventions, or expressive techniques—may address your unique needs. This session serves as the foundation for a collaborative therapeutic relationship and the development of an individualized treatment plan.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my core strengths as a therapist is cultivating a warm, culturally sensitive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel genuinely heard and understood. I integrate professional expertise with personal insight regarding the effects of life transitions, family dynamics, and cultural expectations. This approach enables me to build strong therapeutic alliances with clients from diverse backgrounds and to individualize treatment in alignment with each client’s unique circumstances. Another key aspect of my practice is flexibility and integrative care. I utilize evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and child-centered play therapy, to tailor interventions to each client’s developmental stage, goals, and presenting concerns. By combining practical coping strategies with facilitation of emotional insight, I support clients in developing resilience, enhancing emotional regulation, and achieving meaningful, sustainable change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and challenges related to family or relationships. My clinical experience includes supporting clients navigating cultural expectations, parenting concerns, immigration-related transitions, and emotional distress such as overwhelm or disconnection. I am particularly adept at assisting individuals who are motivated for self-reflection and personal growth, and who wish to develop effective coping skills, enhance emotional regulation, strengthen relationships, and achieve greater self-understanding within their personal and cultural context.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and modify unhelpful thought patterns that impact their emotions and behaviors. In my practice, I apply CBT techniques such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and skills training in a collaborative and individualized manner. This approach supports clients in developing practical coping strategies and improving overall functioning.
