I am an individual therapist with 10 years of experience in community mental health. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional as well as Trauma Focused CBT trained. Through my time facilitating therapy, I have worked with a wide variety of individuals and diagnoses. I have a passion for helping individuals facilitate goal-oriented treatment in order to improve their overall mental health. Additionally, being involved in my community is an important part of my work. I serve as the Co-Chair of my local Suicide Task Force, the Chair of Prevention and Education, and currently supervise 5 Outpatient Mental Health Clinics. I provide community trainings on suicide prevention and crisis management in order to educate individuals on how to best support those in need.
In our first session, I will use a person-centered approach to learn about you and your experiences. I will provide a safe and supportive environment in order to allow you the space to be vulnerable and allow me the privilege of learning what you want to get out of treatment.
I feel that my greatest strength as a provider is my ability to provide attentive listening, empathy, support and unconditional positive regard. I work hard to establish a positive rapport with my clients to ensure they have a space that they feel comfortable in, in order to build a successful foundation for treatment.
I enjoy working with individuals who are motivated to make change and improve their lives. My experience in community mental health has allowed me to get comfortable working with individuals across the life span as well as a wide variety of diagnoses.
I have completed TF-CBT training and am working towards certification through implementation in practice. TF-CBT is a highly recommended, evidence-based practice that is structured and short term (typically 10-22 session.) This modality is a comprehensive therapeutic modality that allows children ages 3-18 to process trauma and address/reduce significant distress stemming from trauma.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapist is a structured, goal-oriented modality. I use this approach to help clients understand how their thoughts, feelings and behaviors are all connected, in order to help facilitate positive change and growth.
I use person centered therapy in treatment in order to help build rapport and establish a positive relationship between myself and clients. Once a safe space is established, deeper work can be completed. I am trained and experienced with many other modalities and am adaptable to the needs of each individual that I am working with.
