New to Grow
Hi, I’m Jaylin. I’m a counselor, a mother, a woman of faith, and a human being who has had her own share of late-night questions, heavy seasons, and quiet breakthroughs. I don’t sit with people from a distance—I sit with them because I’ve lived through the same storms that make life feel overwhelming, confusing, or just plain exhausting. I became a therapist long before I had the title. Life taught me how to hold space, how to listen beneath the surface, and how to walk with people through fear, grief, transition, and the deep ache of wanting more out of life and relationships. I know what it’s like to carry responsibility, to feel stretched thin, to question your purpose, to love deeply, and to rebuild yourself after seasons that shook everything. My approach is calm, real, and non-judgmental. I don’t believe in forcing you into a mold or talking over your experience. I believe in helping you reconnect with the wisdom, strength, and clarity that’s already inside you—because I’ve had to find my own, too. Healing isn’t about pretending things are fine; it’s about having a safe place to lay it all down and grow at your own pace. If you’re looking for a therapist who understands both the emotional and spiritual layers of this journey—and who can meet you with empathy, honesty, and a little bit of hard-earned insight—I’d love to walk with you. You don’t have to figure everything out alone. You’re allowed to be held while you find your way.
Your first session with me isn’t an interview or an evaluation—it’s a slow exhale. You don’t have to show up polished, prepared, or with a perfect story. Just come as you are. I know that sometimes we don’t have all the words for what we’re feeling. Sometimes everything is tangled and hard to sort through. And sometimes those feelings have been pushed down for so long that even naming them feels unfamiliar. That’s okay. I don’t expect you to speak in straight lines. I don’t expect clarity on day one. I meet you exactly where you are. We’ll spend our time getting to know what matters to you—your pace, your comfort, your goals, and the things your heart has been carrying. You can share as much or as little as feels right. I’ll ask gentle, thoughtful questions that help us make sense of the jumble without overwhelming you. You’ll guide the depth; I’ll support the direction. My role is to hold a grounded, safe space while you start unwrapping what’s been hurting, confusing, or weighing you down. We’ll bring curiosity, compassion, and honesty into the room—no pressure, no judgment, no performance. By the end of the first session, you’ll have a clearer sense of how we’ll work together, what support will look like for you, and the reassurance that you don’t have to navigate any of this alone.
My approach is simple, but it’s intentional: I’m fully present, and I meet you exactly where you are. I want you to feel seen, heard, and genuinely understood—not analyzed from a distance. You get a space where you can breathe, slow down, and “just be” without fear of judgment or pressure to hide parts of yourself. From that foundation, we work together. We explore the deeper layers of what you’re facing—the origins, the patterns, the triggers, the coping skills that help and the ones that don’t anymore. I’m not here to tell you who you are; I’m here to help you discover more of yourself with honesty, compassion, and clarity. My style is gentle and authentic. I guide you through understanding your mind and your emotions, help you make sense of your experiences through teachable psychological frameworks, and connect all of that to real-life choices and habits that support healing. I bring presence, wisdom, and practical strategies; you bring your lived experience and your willingness to grow. Together, that becomes a powerful team. You can expect: • Deep, curious exploration of the “why” behind your patterns • Education on how your brain, body, and emotions work • Processing sessions where we untangle old wounds and current stressors • Real-world application, not just theory—what healing looks like in your daily life • Ongoing support that’s steady, transparent, and grounded Every method is tailored to you—your pace, your readiness, your story. Therapy works when both of us show up: I bring safety, presence, and tools; you bring motivation, openness, and a desire for change—even if that desire feels small at first. The results will show as you begin: • understanding yourself better • catching old patterns sooner • coping with stress more effectively • feeling more regulated, centered, and self-aware • noticing improvements in your day-to-day functioning • seeing shifts reflected in regular assessments and your own lived experience I don’t promise overnight transformation, and I won’t pretend the work is effortless. But I do believe in what happens when someone is ready to heal and has the right support beside them. You get to choose the life you live daily—and therapy becomes a place where choosing differently starts feeling possible.
I work best with people who move through the world with a lot on their shoulders and even more going on beneath the surface. People who look strong on the outside but quietly feel stretched, tired, or misunderstood. If you’re the type who keeps going even when you’re overwhelmed… who loves deeply but struggles to share your own needs… who knows you’re carrying more than you admit—then you’re in the right place. I’m especially attuned to clients who: • feel burnt out, emotionally numb, or disconnected from themselves • are navigating transitions—career shifts, identity changes, motherhood, relationships, or spiritual evolution • carry unspoken grief, chronic stress, or trauma responses they’ve tried to manage alone • are “high-functioning” but exhausted from always being the strong one • value both emotional and spiritual depth and want space to explore both • are tired of performing, pretending, or holding everything together • want clarity, calm, and a sense of inner stability • are looking for a therapist who understands complexity—not because of textbooks, but because life taught it first I connect deeply with people who feel things intensely but don’t always know how to express it… people who’ve learned to survive but want to learn how to live… people who sense there’s more to them, more to their purpose, more to their healing, but they can’t quite access it alone. If you’re ready for therapy that isn’t cold or clinical… therapy that feels like a steady anchor while you sort through the tangled parts… therapy that honors your humanity, your faith, your resilience, and your desire for real change—then I’m well-equipped to walk with you. You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to be clear. You just have to show up. I’ll meet you there.
I help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns that affect mood and behavior. By building self-awareness and practicing cognitive restructuring, clients gain practical tools to manage stress, anxiety, and self-doubt.
I create a safe, supportive environment that encourages honesty, self-acceptance, and personal growth. Clients lead the pace while I provide empathy, reflection, and gentle guidance to help them reconnect with their authentic selves.
I integrate mindfulness and grounding techniques to help clients stay present, regulate emotions, and reduce anxiety. These practices build awareness and resilience both in and outside of sessions.
I focus on clients’ existing strengths and resources to help them identify practical solutions. This approach keeps therapy goal-oriented and empowering, especially when clients seek clarity or short-term support.
I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens, prioritizing safety, trust, and empowerment. I integrate CBT, mindfulness, and body-based awareness to support healing and reconnection after emotional or relational trauma.
