Life can feel challenging to navigate sometimes. Together, we can work on managing it. My name is Jen, and I have extensive experience working with individuals and families wanting to improve their overall mental wellness. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Connecticut offering Telehealth services, passionate about helping you explore the stressors in your life and implement positive changes. With a warm and compassionate approach to counseling, I work with you to develop a treatment plan and approach tailored to your goals. My specialties include eating disorders, anxiety, self-esteem, PTSD, OCD, relationships, and ADHD. You are the expert of your own life. Together, let's work towards empowering positive change. **Please be advised that I am unable to provide medication management services**

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I complete a thorough assessment to get to know who you are, as well as the symptoms you may be struggling to navigate. I explain the therapeutic process, as well as get a sense of what goals you would like to work on in our sessions together. I may also suggest certain goals if I feel you may benefit from it.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked in many different non-profit organizations and discovered many resources for clients based on their needs. I have worked with a wide range of ages and mental health challenges.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a helpful method that can help you identify negative thinking patterns you may not be aware of. Once you are aware of these thinking patterns, together we work on viewing these challenging situations more clearly and learn to respond to them in a more effective way.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I help you with accepting your thoughts and emotions by working on being in the present moment. I help to explore and establish your personal values and steps to take to put these changes into action.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

With SFBT, I work with you to identify and understand the issues at hand and provide education on skills that can be used to resolve the issues effectively.
