Hi there! I'm Rachel, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and I'm genuinely committed to your success. With over 15 years in the social work and human services field, and 3 years specifically in clinical therapy, I bring a wealth of experience to our sessions. My approach is all about you. I use a client-centered, strength-based method where we'll explore your unique skills and build a plan together to develop new tools. This personalized process helps you confidently work towards your goals. You'll find me to be an understanding and empathetic therapist, but also straightforward and honest when needed – I believe in clear communication. Beyond individual work, I also love supporting couples and families. I have extensive experience helping to improve family functioning, and I've received additional training in parent education and cooperative parenting to best serve those dynamics. I'm here to help you navigate challenges and build a more fulfilling life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a wonderful opportunity for us to connect and simply get to know each other. You'll find a non-judgmental and truly open atmosphere, designed to make you feel comfortable sharing your story. Together, we'll gently explore what you hope to achieve through therapy and begin mapping out a collaborative plan to guide you toward those meaningful goals. It's the first step in creating positive change, and we're here to walk it with you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My aim is to foster a warm, authentic, and open therapeutic relationship that encourages genuine growth and healing. Clients can expect to gain practical tools for effective coping and communication, as well as a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships. Ultimately, I want to empower individuals and families to navigate life’s complexities with confidence and resilience.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I understand that life can be challenging, and taking the first step toward change is often the hardest. Having support and guidance during those dark or uncertain times can be essential. Whether you're facing your own struggles or supporting someone else through difficult moments, the burden can feel overwhelming. With a particular passion and expertise, I work with individuals recovering from traumatic or adverse experiences, overburdened parents managing multiple demands, and parents striving to develop peaceful co-parenting relationships. Additionally, I support teens and adults navigating the nuanced challenges of mood disorders such as anxiety and depression.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

I believe in a strength-based approach, empowering you by identifying and utilizing your existing skills, then collaborating to build new ones as we progress.

Family Therapy

Family life is beautifully complex! In my family therapy, I use Family Systems Theory, seeing your family as an interconnected whole, not just separate individuals. We'll explore how everyone's roles and interactions create your unique family dynamic, helping us understand patterns and strengths. This allows us to work together to foster healthier communication, shift challenging dynamics, and support genuine growth and healing for the entire family, finding balance so everyone can thrive together.

Couples Counseling

Couples' relationships are uniquely complex and deeply rewarding! In my couples counseling, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), seeing your relationship as a unique bond with its own patterns and dynamics. We'll explore the underlying emotions and cycles that might be causing distress, helping us understand the unspoken needs and fears that drive interactions. This allows us to work together to foster a deeper emotional connection, shift challenging patterns, and support genuine growth and healing for both partners, finding security and harmony so your relationship can thrive together.
