Hi there! I'm Rachel, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 15 years human service and social work experience - including experience on the frontline working child abuse investigations. I transitioned to clinical private practice 4 years ago. I don’t run a sterile, academic practice. My work is deeply rooted in evidence-based science, but our sessions are designed to feel like a real, natural conversation focused on practical, real-world results. I run a warm, accepting space built specifically for anyone who is feeling completely overburdened and just plain tired of pretending they have it all together. When your daily environment, career, or life stage demands total strength, life's challenges and transitions become infinitely heavier to carry on your own. That’s why my approach is straightforward, honest, and entirely focused on helping you let down your guard so you can focus on your own mental wealth and recovery. I am the right fit for those navigating high-pressure realities. My background includes specialized training in trauma, including supporting military personnel, first responders, their spouses, and other public service workers who carry the heavy weight of frontline cultures. I am equally a match for teenagers and young adults navigating the modern grind—those juggling school, career transitions, social pressures, and the exhausting expectation to have their entire identity figured out right now.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a wonderful opportunity for us to connect and simply get to know each other. You'll find a non-judgmental and truly open atmosphere, designed to make you feel comfortable sharing your story. Together, we'll gently explore what you hope to achieve through therapy and begin mapping out a collaborative plan to guide you toward those meaningful goals. It's the first step in creating positive change, and we're here to walk it with you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My aim is to foster a warm, authentic, and open therapeutic relationship that encourages genuine growth and healing. Clients can expect to gain practical tools for effective coping and communication, as well as a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships. Ultimately, I want to empower individuals and families to navigate life’s complexities with confidence and resilience.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you are feeling stretched thin by the demands of life or find yourself weighed down by challenging family dynamics, I am here to offer a safe, compassionate space where you can catch your breath. I work with individuals of all genders and backgrounds—from teens to seniors—celebrating the unique diversity each person brings to the table. Whether you are navigating a major life transition or managing a mental health condition that makes daily activities feel like an uphill battle, my goal is to provide the steady support you need to regain your clarity. I believe that everyone deserves a therapist who respects their individual journey and unique perspective. Together, we will work to navigate the stressors that leave you feeling overwhelmed, helping you move toward a life that feels more grounded and manageable. You don’t have to navigate these complexities alone; let's work together to find a path forward that feels right for you.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

I believe in a strength-based approach, empowering you by identifying and utilizing your existing skills, then collaborating to build new ones as we progress.

Family Therapy

Family life is beautifully complex! In my family therapy, I use Family Systems Theory, seeing your family as an interconnected whole, not just separate individuals. We'll explore how everyone's roles and interactions create your unique family dynamic, helping us understand patterns and strengths. This allows us to work together to foster healthier communication, shift challenging dynamics, and support genuine growth and healing for the entire family, finding balance so everyone can thrive together.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you identify and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior. The core principle of CBT is that our thoughts, feelings, and actions are all interconnected. By learning to recognize and challenge negative thoughts, you can change your emotional responses and behaviors. In our sessions, we'll work together to identify the specific thoughts, beliefs, and triggers that contribute to your challenges. We'll then develop practical, evidence-based strategies to replace unhelpful thought patterns with more balanced and realistic ones. These skills are designed to be used in your daily life, empowering you to better manage your emotions, solve problems, and achieve your personal goals. The goal of CBT is not just to feel better in the moment, but to equip you with lasting tools for improved mental well-being.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma doesn't just live in your memories—it impacts your brain, body, and daily life, often leaving you stuck in a constant state of high alert. My approach to trauma-informed care is focused on immediate emotional safety and genuine relief. In our virtual space, you are entirely in the driver’s seat. We aren't looking to strip away the sharp instincts or protective boundaries that serve you in your career or daily life. Instead, we use evidence-based science to help your nervous system figure out how to actually switch gears—learning to dial it down when you are finally off the clock, safe in your own space, and supposed to be relaxing. Together, we’ll process what you’ve been through and build practical tools so you can drop the weight, catch your breath, and step out of survival mode.
