New to Grow
I came to this work with a deep desire to support others on their journey toward healing and wholehearted living. My approach is a trauma informed lens that affirms client’s culture, gender identity, and strengths. I create safe, inclusive, and warm environments that are uplifting while giving space to address the challenges that are standing in the way of living your best life. I believe our work is best accomplished when we work authentically and collaboratively.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session will focus on building a strong foundation for our work together. I’ll begin by asking if there’s anything you’d like to prioritize so we can focus on what feels most important to you. I’ll also want to understand what brought you in and gather any relevant background that helps provide context. We’ll review any questions you have about the therapeutic process or about me, and we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. If time allows, we’ll begin to outline what our work together might look like moving forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
With over 25 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with children, families, parents, young adults, adults, and seniors. This breadth of experience allows me to understand the unique challenges that arise across different life stages while recognizing that each person’s story is entirely their own. My approach is collaborative and individualized. I believe therapy is most effective when it is tailored to your specific needs, goals, and lived experience. I take time to fully understand what brings you in before determining which interventions will be most helpful. While I frequently draw from EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I integrate methods thoughtfully and adjust our work together based on our ongoing dialogue and what feels most impactful for you. I am also deeply committed to continued learning and professional growth to ensure I provide thoughtful, informed, and effective care.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I’ve worked with people of all ages who identify with issues of trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, work-related issues, self-esteem, substance abuse, and day to day stressors.
EMDR
EMDR is grounded in the understanding that when overwhelming experiences are not fully processed, they can become “stuck” in the nervous system. Rather than requiring you to repeatedly relive these events in detail, EMDR helps the brain reprocess these memories in a way that reduces emotional intensity and allows more adaptive beliefs to emerge. I will guide you through this structured process using bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping) within a safe and carefully paced therapeutic framework.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is grounded in the idea that the way we interpret situations strongly influences how we feel and respond. We can all develop patterns of thinking that are overly self-critical, fear-based, or rigid — patterns that may have once been protective but now contribute to distress. In our work together, I will help you identify these patterns, promote ways of challenging the unhelpful beliefs, and develop more balanced and constructive ways of thinking and responding.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
My goal is to create a space where you feel seen and understood within the full context of your identities. I invite conversations about your identities, cultural background, intergenerational patterns, and experiences of belonging. Rather than assuming expertise in your culture, I will approach you as the expert on your own lived experience.
Psychoeducation
I use psychoeducation to help you better understand how your mind and body responds to stress, trauma, relationships, and life transitions. When we understand why we are feeling or reacting a certain way, it often reduces shame and opens the door to greater self-acceptance. My approach is collaborative and personalized. Rather than overwhelming you with a lot of information, I introduce concepts in a way that feels relevant and accessible and when you wish to receive the information. I integrate psychoeducation alongside other therapeutic interventions.
