New to Grow
I believe everyone deserves a safe and supportive space to explore the barriers that interfere with living the life they desire. My goal is to foster a comfortable and affirming environment, particularly for individuals from oppressed and marginalized communities. Having access to support, self-awareness, and effective coping skills is essential for managing life’s stressors. I also believe in the importance of processing past experiences and exploring how they shape our current worldview and relationships.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session will resemble every session after where I'm asking probing questions to understand how you've navigated the world and why. We will then work together to create treatment goals that best align with your wellness journey and any issues you identify.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
A unique approach I often take with clients is using myself in therapy. Without making sessions about me, I disclose life experiences I believe align with clients and their own lived experiences. I disclose to remind clients that I'm human just like them in hopes of building a trusting therapeutic relationship.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
If you're a person who is struggling with symptoms of burn out, consistently placing the needs of others above your own and have difficulty asserting boundaries, you've come to the right place. I specialize in working with individuals who have patterns of behavior that never seem to serve them but mainly benefit others. With a challenging yet warm approach, I guide clients through exploration of behavior and thought patterns to find healthier solutions to being less overwhelmed and improving their quality of life.
Psychodynamic
I practice many different approaches to therapy based on the needs of the client but my main approaches are psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy. What that means is I would ask you many questions about your past and your childhood to get a better understanding of how you view the world and to help you gain insight into some of your current experiences. We will then collaborate to create goals and solutions to best manage the issues you have identified. Because this approach requires time processing thoughts and emotions both in session and out of session, I advise clients to commit to at least 3-6 months of therapy.
