New to Grow
Hi! I'm Amelia. I’m so glad you’re here! I earned a Master of Education degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University. I began my career working in the community mental health space and later expanded to private practice. I have extensive experience working in Evidence-Based Practices including Functional Family Therapy, Multisystemic Therapy, TripleP and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am also trained in EMDR. I have an eclectic approach therapeutically, incorporating components from Evidenced Based Practices and other modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavior Shaping, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, EMDR, and Existential Therapy.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know one another and begin building a collaborative, supportive relationship. We’ll spend time discussing what brought you to therapy, what’s been feeling most challenging, and what you’re hoping might change or improve. I’ll ask questions to better understand your current concerns, relevant history and what has or hasn’t been helpful for you in the past. My approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative. We’ll talk about goals together and begin to identify next steps that feel realistic and supportive for you. You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming in... showing up is enough! My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and grounded in a clearer sense of direction as we move forward together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I bring a grounded, collaborative approach that integrates evidence-based practices with a deep understanding of family systems, trauma, and the nervous system. I work especially well with clients experiencing anxiety, OCD, trauma, and parenting-related stress, offering both practical tools and space for deeper insight. My goal is to help clients feel supported, empowered, and clear about next steps without feeling rushed, judged, or reduced to a diagnosis.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I have worked with clients from all walks of life with concerns including: Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder/Complex Trauma, Parenting Challenges, Postpartum Anxiety/Depression and more. Session goals are determined collaboratively with the client.
EMDR
