Hi, I'm Victoria, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and I work with adult clients who want to better understand themselves and make improvements in their lives. Whether those concerns come from poor boundaries, depression, self-esteem issues, or everyday stress, I want to be in your corner and provide you the support you need through multiple therapeutic techniques to build the life you want. I believe in creating a supportive and safe environment for my clients to truly be themselves.
During our first session I will dive deep into what makes you who you are. It's important for me to understand your past to help you identify current thoughts, triggers, and belief systems. From there we will discuss what brought you to therapy and want goals you want to work on. Don't worry about being "prepared" for therapy - you don't have to have topics or goals ready in advance. We will work together to discover them. Throughout our time together those goals might change and need to be adjusted, which is common and we will adjust as we need. Most importantly, I want you to feel safe, understood, and in control.
I use multiple therapeutic techniques when working with clients from cognitive behavioral therapy to narrative therapy or a combination of therapies. The most common one I use; however, is dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) because I am a certified DBT therapist and I believe these skills are helpful in someway to everyone.
Life can be enjoyable, exciting, and full of emotions, but sometimes we might feel stuck. Maybe due to miscommunication or from past hurts and pain. I work with adult clients who are experiencing these difficulties and other concerns from depression, anxiety, or trauma. DBT is an evidence based treatment used in therapy to help clients who may experience emotional dysregulation. We will work together to identify behaviors you’d like to improve and practice skills to help you do just that.
