About me

With nearly three decades as a psychologist, I’ve learned that life is complex, but healing is always possible. Many of the people I work with are navigating anxiety, depression, or trauma that shows up in relationships, work, or long-standing family patterns. People often seek me out when they’re wanting relief from overthinking, ready to break old cycles, or wanting to feel more confident and grounded in themselves. In our work together, we make sense of how your history may be shaping your present, learn practical ways to manage your thoughts more effectively, and build healthier skills for moving forward. I work extensively with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, perfectionism, and the emotional strain that comes from being the “strong one” in their families or workplaces. I also specialize in supporting gay men and other LGBTQ+ adults. As a member of this community myself, I understand many of the experiences my clients bring in. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, so I create a warm, collaborative space where you can feel safe, understood, and maybe even a little lighter by the time you leave. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for change, we’ll work together to find clarity and build tools that make a meaningful difference in your day-to-day life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is all about getting to know you. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you hope to get out of therapy, and any questions you have. I’ll explain how I work, and together we’ll decide what feels right for you. Think of it as a conversation — no pressure, no judgment — just a calm, supportive space to start building trust and get a sense of what working together might look like.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and down-to-earth. I use evidence‑based strategies, but I translate them into practical tools you can use in your daily life. I listen closely, reflect honestly, and help you make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface. You’ll leave sessions feeling supported and equipped — with insight into your experiences and tools that actually make a difference. I also find that a little humor can be incredibly helpful. Mental health is serious, but it doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time. Clients often tell me they appreciate that they can talk about serious things without feeling overwhelmed.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with adults who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by depression, or coping with old wounds that still affect them today. Many people seek me out when they’re tired of constant worry and overthinking, wanting to feel more confident, or trying to navigate major life changes. Others come in hoping to understand what shaped them — the beliefs, experiences, and coping styles that influence how they think, feel, and relate to others. Most have reached a point where they’re ready for something different: ready to feel better, ready to try therapy, ready to stop navigating things on their own. I also have a deep commitment to supporting LGBTQ+ clients who grew up receiving mixed messages about who they were allowed to be. Many are navigating identity, relationships, family expectations, or the long-term impact of having had to shrink or edit themselves. Their goals often include unlearning old survival strategies, healing from shame, strengthening boundaries and deepening self-acceptance. I offer a space where they can explore all of this with safety, compassion, and a little lightness.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

My approach is eclectic, meaning I pull from different evidence‑based methods depending on what each person needs. I believe people often know more about what’s right for them than they realize. I help you understand the beliefs and internal narratives that influence how you feel, and we work together to shift those in ways that reduce anxiety and depression. This flexible approach allows us to build tools that genuinely support growth, relief, and long‑term change.
