Tonya M. Logan, LICSW and LCSW-C, has over 30 years of professional clinical experience working with those managing conflict and trauma. A native Washingtonian, she received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Virginia and her master’s degree in social work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. Ms. Logan spent the bulk of her career, in D.C. and Maryland, working with biological and foster parents by securing permanency via reunification, adoption, or independent living. She was the clinical director of a program which provided in-home services to families at-risk of abuse and/or neglect to strengthen and stabilize them so they would be diverted from the child welfare system. Ms. Logan was a contractor with an organization in which she facilitated 10-week grief groups for those impacted by homicide following her certification as a grief recovery specialist. She transitioned to being the supervisory social worker in a non-public school for students diagnosed with learning differences, emotional challenges, ADHD, and/or autism. Ms. Logan is the Founder and CEO of Kayla’s Village, begun in July 2007, which strives to be the premier provider of innovative seminars and supportive resources for individuals, families, professionals, and communities. Additionally, she is a clinician providing counseling to individuals and couples and on the Advisory Board of the Center for Infant and Child Loss. Ms. Logan is an active church member of Trinity AME Zion Church and published author, Mommie’s Bright Sunshine, speaking to the reality that we can move beyond our trials, tragedies, and trauma without allowing it to define our future. She is the parent of two children, one by adoption and one by birth, and has hosted two exchange students. Obviously, Ms. Logan tries to tailor her life to help others in need.

My name is Janet Muta and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have over 15 years of experience in mental health services, behavioral issues and relationships. I treat individuals from diverse backgrounds. My approach is treating the whole person because most of the time our problems are the outcome of more than just one thing and when I get to know you I am able to address different issues that could be contributing to that one specific problem. We all experience some difficulties in our lives sometimes and we all cope differently. What works for one person/couple who are experiencing a similar situation may not work for another and so I personalize your treatment to fit you. Being in therapy is like being on a journey, I make sure you are in the driver’s seat and I become your great working GPS, guiding you to your desired destination. I also hold a degree in finance which sometimes comes handy when helping those who are stressed due to financial needs. Among the treatment modalities I use are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) - Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Positive Parenting, Contingency Management...

I specialize in anxiety, couples counseling, Christian counseling, holistic health, family conflict, grief, parenting, postpartum, self-esteem issues, and women's issues. Life is filled with challenges, from relationships and life changes to traumatic events, anxiety, and depression. Finding a space where you are seen and heard is crucial; a place where you are valued and free to process your fears, hurts, expectations, and needs—from the practical to the painful. A place where you are welcome to share all parts of your story: mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, and relational. This is that place, and I am so glad you are here! I am a certified social worker licensed in Maryland, DC, Michigan, and California, with licenses as an LICSW, LCSW-C, and LCSW. With over 17 years of education and professional experience, I offer a client-centered space where we work together to bring change, healing, and help wherever you need it. I have lived in several places across the country, experiencing various cultures, strengths, and needs. We will work together to create an effective plan with tools and strategies specifically tailored for you. I understand that no single modality is universally effective for every individual or couple, and I have dedicated my career to acquiring proficiency in various clinical approaches. My experience includes Christian Counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Therapy, Couples Counseling, Grief Therapy, and Anxiety Therapy. While CBT provides a main structure for my approach, the foundation of our work is built on your story and the core beliefs you hold. Therapy is only as effective as the relationship built between you and me. As such, I prioritize authenticity, transparency, and trust. If you are looking for a safe, genuine, welcoming space, I trust you will find it here! I hope to have the opportunity to journey with you through this season of your life...
