LaTonya Jones is a board certified Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia. She has a BS in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University and a MS in Counseling Studies from Capella University. She has over 25 years of experience in Mental Health. LaTonya’s area of interest is empowering Women and teenage Girls. She has worked with adults, teens, couples and families. LaTonya provides a range of therapeutic and psychotherapy services to include depression, anxiety, PTSD, stress, adjustment disorders, grief and loss, addiction, life transitions and anger management. LaTonya strives to empower her clients to ultimately arrive at a place of emotional and mental stability. As a therapist, I strive to provide a place where the courage to ask for help is met with compassion and patience as we embark on the path to healing together. I help clients with many common struggles (e.g., anxiety, depression, etc.) make the changes they want for a more fulfilling life. I work with children as young as 10 years old up through adults in individual, couple, and family settings.

My philosophical life view is based upon a positive psychological perspective which means I truly believe that one voice can change your day, week, month, future and the world! I have dedicated myself to helping teens, young adults and women become a better version of themselves no matter what life throws at them. I enjoy challenging my clients to think differently and then watching the benefits that occur when they find success. I want to continue to teach courage and confidence by touching and diving into subjects such as overcoming self-doubt, identifying scarcity thinking and toxic surroundings, and unbalanced relationships. By having my clients identify on their own, their own overthinking, unhealthy relationships and perfectionism, together we can create new patterns of thinking that can lead to increased self-efficacy, courage and confidence.

In my work as a Therapist, my clinical training and experience encompasses depression, couples enrichment, grief/loss, separation/divorce, relationship issues, and other emotional/interpersonal disturbances. I specialize in trauma such as sexual abuse, domestic violence, and death/illness.

I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for over 17 years. I have over 25 years of experience treating children & adults with a variety of mental health concerns & diagnoses. I am a nationally certified counselor, a multi-state Licensed Professional Counselor, have worked in schools, both as a teacher and a counselor, and have experience working in group homes, hospitals, and outpatient settings. I also teach psychology classes at local colleges and universities and am an active volunteer in the community. I have a strong focus on proper diagnostic assessment, paired with empathic treatment planning. I also enjoy working with students and Residents, and am a board-approved LPC Supervisor in the state of Virginia.

I have worked with diverse populations, conditions and settings. Serving acute, residential, in-home, medical clinics, victim services, critical incident debriefings in schools and the workplace. As a past Florida Licensed Teacher I have facilitated individualized learning for those with special needs such that of giftedness, learning disabilities and behavioral with emphasis on social and emotional goals.
