Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in both West Virginia and Virginia. I graduated Liberty University in beautiful Lynchburg, Virginia and am happy to include or NOT include a faith based approach to your treatment. I specialize in working with adults and couples with a wide range of concerns ranging from healing from trauma, anxiety, depression, to individuals experiencing life transitions, parenting or those navigating co-parenting relationships and martial concerns. My goal is to assist you in reducing symptoms and improving your overall level of functioning and life satisfaction. It is important for you to know that I work on multiple telehealth platforms. To avoid getting double booked I only allow morning time slots for self booking/intake appointments. However, I have afternoon and evening appointments available for follow up appointments. These appointments I will book for you for the agreed upon day and time. If you are needing an afternoon or evening appointment for your intake, please message me before booking so that I can let you know what I have available.

My work as a psychotherapist is rooted in a profound belief that by recognizing and honoring our complex, messy life stories with honesty and gentleness, we lay the foundation to heal the obstacles preventing us from building fulfilling, meaningful lives. Throughout life, we all create narratives about ourselves to help us survive. These narratives are shaped by myriad factors (individual life experiences, relationships, intergenerational legacies, and experiences of oppression/privilege, belonging/rejection, among others). Over time, our narratives and coping mechanisms fall short. We wonder, what went wrong? What's wrong with me?

Prior to private practice, I worked in outpatient therapy clinics, community mental health agencies, and hospital clinics. I have my Masters of Social Work degree and am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults through individual and family therapy modalities. When I am not providing therapy, I enjoy spending time with my pets, collecting way too many books, learning about new hobbies (my recent quest is keeping plants alive), and googling places to see the best sunsets.

I am a licensed professional counselor with five years of experience including Residency. Though I use an eclectic approach, the interventions I most commonly use are Cognitive behavioral therapy, Dialectical behavior therapy. One size does not fit all so understanding my clients and applying client specific intervention is very important to me. I am also clinical trauma specialist, trained in Internal family systems and EMDR. I am a firm believer of an individual's spirituality playing a significant role in their healing process. I provide Christian counseling to my clients who need it.
