Greetings to You! I am Bethany and am thankful you have made the decision to live your most phenomenal life! Do you feel utterly lost, stuck or even misunderstood? Do you feel like you know what to do but don't have the will-power or tools to execute it? I help marginalized individuals identify how to show up as their most authentic selves and get the life they deserve. Together, we can identify what's not working and get you back to balance. We'll use a whole self approach, addressing the needs of your mind, body and spirit. I also integrate mindfulness, yoga and art to help you develop a stronger relationship with yourself. Whether you're dealing with relationship issues, racism, transphobia or addiction, I'm here to help and comfort. Seeking therapy can feel unnerving but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal, grow, try on new perspectivesand just BE. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let's work together and get you to the next level of your healing journey!

Are you looking for your life to be different somehow, but you aren't sure exactly what that would look like, or how to make it happen? I can help you identify your most pressing issues, then help you identify solutions that you believe will work and support you while you start to implement changes. I believe you are the most likely person to be able to identify your best solutions, and perhaps all you need is encouragement and acceptance to get started. I work from a background of existential theory (the idea that our human experiences are shared and we are all looking for meaning, purpose, satisfying relationships, and personal freedom), and I blend cognitive behavioral theory (CBT), motivational interviewing, radical acceptance, and humor into therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a method of learning the connections between our actions, our feelings, our thoughts, and our physical sensations. Motivational interviewing (MI) is a way to encourage positive changes without it feeling overwhelming or scary. I believe every person deserves care, concern, and a safe space to explore their feelings without judgment or fear. I aim to be easy to talk to, an excellent and attentive listener, and always supportive. I sometimes recommend helpful assignments in between therapy sessions to help you practice new skills and learn hidden truths about yourself. I help people who have been codependent on their partner to become freer to make their own decisions and to trust their partner to do the same. I can help you learn specific techniques to lessen the symptoms of your anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances.

It would be my pleasure to work with you! My name is Kim Sylla and I have been interested in the field of social services since childhood when I enthusiastically listened to the life stories of those around me including friends, neighbors and extended relatives. This interest grew with with my first therapist volunteer experience -- at the age of 20 -- with individuals who had substance use and mental health disorders. Since then I have had a wide array of additional volunteer and work experiences with adults and adolescents undergoing various life challenges at work, school, home and in the larger community. My varied experience, training and education prepared me to use an integrative therapeutic approach that draws on cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and ecological systems theory.
